Ooooopsss......Why does one send texts to a window cleager ? My hubby would be most concerned

In a facebook messenger group we had been discussing a forthcoming big surprise we were planning for a our friend. Along with the plans we also had a side chat pulling her husbands character apart in a joking but still a bit cutting way. For no apparent reason one of the group suddenly decided to invite the friend to the chat! Shock horror .
Luckily it was noticed a few minutes later and it was rectified in a panic by deleting the whole conversation. Never mind about the spoiled surprise ,the thought of the friend reading our comments about her beloved makes our blood run cold every time we think about it.

And cybergrime is now in my vocabulary. I shall cherish and use it at every opportunity.

I once accidentally sent a picture of a man I liked to my entire mailing list. Oooops! Fortunately, he wasn't identifiable, and many of them couldn't open it because it was too large.

On one occasion I was asked to fax 3 sheets of paper to one person, but only send two of them to another person. Of course I sent the wrong one. I realised what I done, and was really worried. I had an appointment with my GP after work and told her. She said "Oh,don't worry about, just lie!" There was never any comeback though.

My daughter sent a message to her husband when he was using his computer to give a presentation to 100+ colleagues and prospective clients. And yes it popped up on the large screen. Luckily it wasn't too embarrassing although his boss did ask him if he wanted to clear the room before answering!

I have a friend (in her twenties) who received a text from her dad, meant for his girlfriend.
It was extremely graphic, and referred to what a 'big lad' he is.
She was horrified!

Last year I got a text from a woman which was clearly meant for her boyfriend, saying if he meant anything of what he'd said she was waiting for an apology or she was finished with him this time. He had broken her heart for the last time.

I decided to let her know that he wasn't going to be able to reply, as it had come to an old granny! She apologised and said he had been treating her really badly, so I replied and said listen, you deserve better than a liar and a cheat. She said, I know I am but I love him. So I said, but you have to love yourself more. Turn the love you have for him back to yourself. She said she'd try.

No idea who she was, but she sounded lovely and I hope she took my advice!

Lots of lols! I can't really compete - worst I've done was one critical of a family member,intended only for my daughter, went to the subject. I also mystified an acquaintance with one moaning about them not having put the bins put which was meant for DS.
TIP: put the address in last!

Icyalittle, when I said it was too large I meant the picture of course! As for anything else, I couldn't possibly comment!

My son sent me a text once meant for his wife along the lines of "get your kit off I'm on my way home". Boy was he embarrassed when he realised! ?

Cybergrime - that HAS to be the new word of the year. hahaha!!

My DH's colleague received an email from a client, dated 25 Dec. Said colleague then forwarded email to DH, adding 'How much of a Billy No Mates do you have to be to send that email on Christmas Day???'. You've guessed it, client was copied in ?

LEWLEW He told me at a later time - somebody who shared my first name, but he was never sure who? I never did ask why I had seemed the most likely candidate.

Oh yes indeed a couple of times, once to my son which was a message meant for my partner after a wonderful Christmas (too much information LOL) and also to the lovely young teenager we look after on a Saturday evening. I am so careful but obviously not careful enough. I usually only use messages for my partner, but occasionally someone will message me and that is when I make the error. Note to oneself. Double check who you are messaging before sending. :-(

About 10 years ago I sent a sexy email to a guy and it went to my sister as well as him, and also to another guy! I must add I wasn't seeing more than one man at a time! I was mortified when my sister replied telling me she was shocked! I had replied to his email, so why it went to two other people I have no idea. It was so embarrassing and annoying considering I only replied to someone's email. I was dreading seeing my sister again after that. It still gives me palpitations thinking about it.

In the early days of email at work a colleague thought she was forwarding an email photo of 'naughty' gnomes to the 4 people in the office she worked in. Unfortunately she managed to send it to the whole company including the Managing Director. He made sure she had lessons on how not to do it again.

I was mortified and worried I had given the wrong impression when I put kisses at the end of a text to the window cleaner so I sent another apologising for said kisses. I made sure I was out when he called round next

I suddenly noticed that my DS Headmaster kept smiling at me and stopping to talk to me when I was in the school (PTA duties) and it was only when I had to speak to him on a totally different subject, he confessed how flattered he'd been to receive my cheeky get well card when he was off recently! I don't know what was more shocking - the fact he thought it was from me OR he seemed interested! I then had to tell him it absolutely was not from me and it was then his turn to be embarrassed. He was so embarrassed and couldn't apologise enough that we both got the giggles to such an extent his secretary came in to see if we were alright. For days afterwards I kept bursting into laughter at the most inconvenient times, and even now I can feel my cheeks getting red, and I didn't even do anything.

I got a business one meant for another client where the web designer was charging them less for work similar to our shop's... he had to back down and give my boss the same deal. YAY!

Laughing lots at all these mis-sent texts and emails. Great thread, cheered me up no end
