First time I've written a post and I'm a first time Gran!
My Son and his partner were expecting twins in May but as the Mum had health issues we knew they would be early. There is early and there is early! They arrived on Wednesday 22nd February at exactly 28 weeks. A little boy who weighs 1 lb 11oz and a little girl who weighs 2lb. Teeny tiny. We don't know their names as Mummy isn't able to see them yet and they don't want to name them until she does. The boy is breathing on his own but the girl isn't and they are both on antibiotics as they have slight infections, but apart from that they are "as well as can be expected". I panic every time my phone rings or bleeps with a message and there is a very weird mix of feelings going on. 12 weeks early is so early all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.

Welcome home to the babies and congratulations to you all.

The babies have left hospital! Such a long 10 weeks with lots going on but they finally got there! The staff at St. Thomas' and then Queen Elizabeth Hospital have looked after them so well we will be forever grateful - thank goodness for our wonderful NHS!

Thank you so much to everyone for the good wished and especially those of you who have been through it or have known someone who has. Its a great help to read of the other tiny babies that have made it! My Grandchildren (from zero to plural in one go!) are actually doing really well but its been up and down, gaining ground then going back, and we know it will be like this for a very long time to come. They are so beautiful though, we have now seen them and are so proud. Thank you all again

Sincere good wishes to you all, especially the little babies. My first GS was born, 22 years ago, 10 weeks early, weighing 2lb, so I have some idea of how you might feel at present. Thinking of you all and wishing you well.

Congratulations kitlong to you and your family and wishing you all the best. My first DGS was born on the same date as your two, 6 weeks early, and though not as tiny as your precious twins it was still very worrying. We have just celebrated his 10th birthday and he couldn't be fitter. He is clever, fun and a gifted footballer and athlete. He now wears clothes that would normally fit a 12 year old. No matter what he became we would have loved him just the same. flowers
