Esspee the mirror business applies to me too, so when I need a photo for anything I always have a photo of my mirror reflection. In family photos, try and discover which side or 3/4 view of yourself you prefer and make sure that's the side you show, avoiding looking directly at the camera. Since doing this, I've almost become a fan of photos.
