Queen Camilla

Prince Charles is campaigning for Camilla to be Queen Camilla when he becomes King. I would not like her to be Queen. I think they both behaved appallingly in carrying on their affair when they were both married to someone else. They had no concern for the hurt, upset and heartbreak they caused Diana and Andrew PB. They just thought it was perfectly OK to act as they did. It's 80 years since Edward abdicated to marry a divorced woman, and Margaret was not able to marry Peter Townsend, even though she was unlikely to ascend the throne. So what rules have changed? He has what he wanted and married her, but making her Queen is condoning their adultery.
But I think I'm in the minority in my view.

I really dont agree with these conspiracy theories about Dianas death. There have been several independent investigations as well at the inquest and no evidence hAs been found of anything but an accident.

Moocow Sat 25-Feb-17 11:25:54

Totally agree with mrsmopp and others who have said similar. The public are always being persuaded by the media campaign etc. They will do exactly as they please. Think the Queen continuing all these years speaks volumes.

grin sad, but true.
And Donald Trump thinks HE has problems??

Elegran Sat 25-Feb-17 10:32:09

There are lies, damned lies, and celebrity gossip.

MawBroon Sat 25-Feb-17 10:30:11

This whole thread is no more than "gossip" Elegran , of the most pointless trivial sort found in sleb mags and the redtops hmm

Elegran Sat 25-Feb-17 10:25:41

Luckylegs If there must be a succession, it must be next in line, that is the eldest son of the queen. Anything else is NOT a succession, It is a choice. If there is to be a choice then it could just as well end up as Joe Bloggs from the fish shop.

Poly580 Where did you get that info about Camilla being bored? It sounds to me like fake gossip from a journo seeking to boost sales of his newspaper.

MissAdventure Sat 25-Feb-17 09:20:48

I think a lot of people took to Diana precisely because she wasn't saintly.
She seemed to be the first royal to actually show emotion.

HannahLoisLuke Sat 25-Feb-17 08:35:59

I'm ambivalent about the Charles/Camilla thing. I do like Prince Charles and I like Camilla too. Like others, I'm not fooled by the St Diana thing either but Camilla as Queen? She'd only be consort anyway so not that important.

Anniebach I agree with you on Princess Margaret, she was given the choice to marry Townsend and give up her royal status, or renounce him and keep it. She chose the latter. Never behaved very royally though!

Poly580 Sat 25-Feb-17 07:01:57

I am not keen on Charles but I suppose we have to put up with him but I really dislike Camila and don't want her to become queen. Lots of people have affairs but they way this threesome was handled by the Palace was a disgrace. Diana wanted to call the wedding off and was told she couldn't because the tea towels etc were already printed. They used a young girl to cover up Charles behaviour. Surely a future queen should be living with her king instead of living at "Raymill" which is costing 2 million per year in security alone. All the food for Raymill is delivered from the palace. Apparently she is at Raymill because she is bored with her marriage as it's not as exciting as when they were having their affair.... some people are never happy!!

If there must be a succession, should be William. Just because people have money it doesn't automatically follow they have no morals or feelings, people from all walks of life are serial adulterers and liars, many more are not. Some of the coarse comments that have been made by certain people on here are their views, not mine or many like me. Lots of decent people out there who like fair play.

The Royal family has a very efficient public relations team to show them in a good light. From Camilla being pelted with bread rolls in a supermarket, because she was hated so much, they have swayed public opinion now to her being accepted.
The Windsors are adapting all the time in various ways - Letting the public into Buckingham Palace, agreeing to pay taxes in order to keep in favour, paying for restoration to Windsor Castle after the fire (but using admission money from Buckingham Palace, so we paid anyway.)
If you had been told in 1997 when Diana was killed, that Charles would be able to marry Camilla and make her Queen, you would not have believed it. We were told when they married that she would not be crowned, now we are being persuaded to accept her as Queen.
The advertising campaign goes on. They are looking after Number One.

Someone should write a tv serial using all the information on this thread, its makes entertaing reading.

According to a journalist friend Philip has a female companion who would share his accommodation when he was at his carriage events, but no one uses the information in deference to the Queen.

Diddy1 Fri 24-Feb-17 23:15:12

To solve the problem, maybe Charles wont want to be King, and then William will be, then it will be Queen Catherine, now that does sound nice.

Anniebach Fri 24-Feb-17 23:09:58

Yep Stillalive . Not her brother her brother in law Robert Fellows ,private secretary to queenie was flown into Paris, he and members of MI5 stormed the British embassy, took control of the embassy and it was he who controlled all those involved in the murder, the air ambulance , Henri Paul the driver, the hospital , the ambulance , there were witnesses, the British ambassador didn't realise what was going on in his embassy . The same Robert Fellows was st the same time attending a talk given by Sir John Mortimer in a packed parish church in England,

That hospital was chosen so a certain doctor could abort the baby and orders were given to embalm her body to cover any proof that she had been pregnant

Surely not a conspiracy theory ? Oh and Al Fayed recognised a nurse who was involved at the hospital when he went to see his son's body .

Annie29 Fri 24-Feb-17 23:03:02

I agree with you Mrsmopp I would not like her to be Queen

stillaliveandkicking Fri 24-Feb-17 22:49:57

Hospitals closed down ready for the crash, really? Not sure what you're stating about Diana's brother? You're going to tell me she was pregnant in a minute and the baby was ordered to be cut away and disposed of.

chickenlegs Fri 24-Feb-17 22:47:00

No Queen Camilla!!! Diana was a nineteen-year-old starry-eyed girl, already damaged by being deserted by her mother when she was six. Charles should have had the maturity to cherish her and make the marriage work.

Anniebach Fri 24-Feb-17 22:38:32

Stillalive, did you know Paris closed down three hospitals ready for the crash so the ambulance would have to drive to a fourth whilst Diana's brother in law was giving orders from the British embassy - which he had stormed early that evening , problem was he was also in a full church in his home village in England attending a talk by John Mortimer grin

stillaliveandkicking Fri 24-Feb-17 22:27:26

I wouldn't want William to become king yet. Charles will reign for quite a short period and give William time gestate a bit more before such a heavy burden of having to be "perfect" put upon him.

As for Diana being "killed" No one has an ounce of evidence except for conspiracy theories. Let's face it lots of people thought Elvis was still alive when he'd been dead for years grin

Anniebach Fri 24-Feb-17 22:18:11

Ksffi, you could not have followed the inquest into her death , this is about Camilla but I would like to ask one question, why on the night of the accident did Diana and Dodi, will full knowledge of the press outside the Ritz and with a private suite at the ritz go against the advice of the bodyguards and leave the ritz to go to Dodi's apartment?

keffie Fri 24-Feb-17 22:05:56

I don't agree that Camilla should become Queen. I have learnt to tolerate her over the years for many reasons too long to go into.

The way the world was then the future King had to still marry a virgin bride. Camilla was part of choosing Diana. Yes Diana had affairs however Charles was with Camilla and they never split up. Diana finally realised that was never going to change.

Diana was treated appallingly by the monarchy. Yes I still believe Diana was murdered. They were never going to come out and say ''Oh yes we had your Mom bumped off Wills and Harry'' and the rest of the country.

No I don't believe the monarchy was involved in it. My own personal view it was 1 or more of the secret services which was to do with her charity works (predominately landmines) and choice of partner with Dodi. Too much doesn't add up. Believe me I am not a conspiracy theorists. I studied this from every direction cutting out all the hysteria. No way was it an accident/

Camilla will never be accepted as Queen. Maybe she would have been if Diana had lived and got to have her own personal happiness.

The only reason the monarchy has survived is down to Wills & Harry and that gave the monarchy the space to modernise.

Personally I would rather it pass straight to William too. Though at the rate the Queen is going that isn't impossible to happen. The Queen is 90 and doesn't look like dieing anytime soon.

Charles is already 68 so there is every possibility he may not be well enough or may not be here anyway going on the 3 score years and 10 guideline.

I doubt Camilla would want it anyway as she wouldn't want the aggro that came with it

An alpha male tends to get a bit pissed off when his wife has other things to do and seems to throw his willy about a bit grin

stillaliveandkicking Fri 24-Feb-17 21:56:11

He may have trisher who knows, it seems he have had a thing about a lot of girls grin
