I woke thinking today would be a good day.

I am normally quite a negative sort of person. A pessimist. A glass that never had anything in it, in the first place. Someone who believes that if it can go wrong then it undoubtedly, will. A miserable cow

Strangely (for me)I woke this morning with a feeling that I haven't experienced for so long I can't remember the last time. I felt that today was going to be a good day. Don't know how. Or why.

It is 1.15 as I type this and wonder when my cut off time should be? shall I stay awake until midnight just in case I miss the "good thing" ? How will I know if and when it has happened?

Each night I lie in bed just before dropping off and reflect on the single best/worst thing that happened to me. First one usually generates a gentle smile and the latter - well it wasn't THAT bad. Anything disastrous and I wouldn't be dropping off!

Sorry but I think it's just the atmospheric pressure changing suddenly with the storm currents. I have noticed days I feel lighter hearted and I know now it's definitely weather-related.

grin even!

Perhaps you should have bought a lottery ticket? [grin

Enjoy it!

This is the beginning of the next stage in your life.

We all go through changes and if you are healthy and not poverty stricken, now is time for some contentment, even fun!

Go for it!! smile

Good morning everyone.

A lovely sunny morning here on the North East coast.

Yes I have survived the storm Auntieflo smile we have been quite fortunate up here compared with some places.

I do hope you are right jogginggirl I didn't wake up with the same positive feeling this morning as I did yesterday, but it's Friday and the sun is shining and I am determined to make the most of it and have a good day.

Well yesterday wasn't a particularly good day grannypiper but there again it wasn't a bad one either. I finished the book I was reading (My name is Leon, by Kit De Waal) at about 11.50 and it had an (almost) happy ending so I did at least smile to myself before I fell asleep. Meeting my dad straight from work to take him for his shopping and various other chores (pretty much what I do every Friday afternoon) I might put the lottery on tonight. Who knows my good feeling might have been a day out? smile

Wishing all you lovely people a Good day sunshinex

Morning gilly was yesterday a good day ?

jogginggirl Thu 23-Feb-17 23:14:55

Maybe it is just a sign that you can have better days gillybob - the more the better..... Fill that glass up girl and I hope you wake up feeling just as/if not more, positive tomorrow ?......

Spring is definitely in the air ????

Auntieflo Thu 23-Feb-17 22:45:03

Gillybob, sorry about " the boys out back" , but not long to go now. Have you survived the storm and high winds? If so, you have had a good day.
Here's to tomorrow brew,cupcake flowers

gillybob Thu 23-Feb-17 22:07:57

Just under 2 hours to go. Waiting with baited breath. Yes baubles you might. Be right. Maybe the feeling of it going to be a good day was the best it was ever going to be. In which case I think all will be back to "normal" tomorrow.

Luckygirl Thu 23-Feb-17 17:29:36

I hope it has been a good day gilly! smile

We are in a new home now and thought the huge bed in the garden directly in front of the kitchen window looked empty and boring - but it is now awash in bulbs coming up - very exciting to see what they are - and looking forward to lots of washing up!

baubles Thu 23-Feb-17 16:55:39

Yes I was going to say that perhaps the feeling good is the good thing. It could be the first of many days when feel that way.

DanniRae Thu 23-Feb-17 16:39:18

Maybe gillybob it's nice enough to just have that feeling that something good is going to happen - so just enjoy the feeling and hope it lasts! grin

janeainsworth Thu 23-Feb-17 16:13:01

For goodness sake!
Book a table for Saturday night then and then you've got two whole days to look forward to it!!!

gillybob Thu 23-Feb-17 15:10:59

I have seen him before harrigran and George Clooney, he aint !

Anyway who needs George Clooney when I have got my DH? grin

harrigran Thu 23-Feb-17 15:04:28

gilly whatever is going to happen is obviously linked to your trip to the vets, the vet is probably George Clooney in disguise grin

gillybob Thu 23-Feb-17 14:50:23

Oh I do hope so Cherrytree59 smile

Cherrytree59 Thu 23-Feb-17 14:48:23

gilly it maybe a telepathic kind of feeling. In inkling that something nice is in the air
Or that spring is just round the corner
smile

Daffodils really do cheer me up Rinouchka My DGD2 (9) has always called them "happy yellow flowers". I have my garden crammed full with them, just for her.

gillybob Thu 23-Feb-17 14:39:48

I'm really not making excuses janeainsworth I totally "get" what you are saying but DH works very long hours during the week (typically 14 hours days) and dinner out is almost impossible Monday-Friday. Plus I promised I would take my sisters dog to the vets tonight (really, I am not making it up). I will try my best to do something soon though. smile

The "boys out back" think I am their bloomin' mother Auntieflo they can't even wash their own cup never mind make me a cuppa !

They do cheer me up sometimes with their school boy humour though.

Rinouchka Thu 23-Feb-17 14:09:02

Forgot to add, it's not the destination, but the journey....

Rinouchka Thu 23-Feb-17 14:08:26

Yes, gilly orchestrate the good thing yourself. Dinner out tonight or tomorrow sounds great. Book it now.

And buy something nice on your way home: a lipstick or whatever might please you. Or just a bunch of daffodils.

Make the positive mood last. smile

Auntieflo Thu 23-Feb-17 14:05:39

Perhaps " the boys out back " will make you a cuppa this afternoon. wink

janeainsworth Thu 23-Feb-17 14:00:47

Oh and no excuses that you are busy doing something for someone else!

janeainsworth Thu 23-Feb-17 13:59:33

gilly
I am not sure I know how
For example, if going out for a meal with DH tonight or tomorrow would feel good, pick up the phone and book a table now.
Not only will you feel good because you have something nice to look forward to, but you will feel good because you have been proactive and made it happen.
Unless we live in la-la land nice things don't happen spontaneously very often.
And do you know what, the more you practise being proactive and making nice things happen, the easier it gets. smile
