OH is obsessional about computer bugs and is now refusing to let me skype my DD as he says the app is "full of bugs" - sigh.
Every move I make on the computer is followed by a diatribe on how dangerous it is.
I am just having a vent! I wish there was a pissed of emoticon!

I suppose it is not possible for PD sufferers to take a mild sedative? or a herbal remedy? I really admire everyone who lives and cares for someone like this, I hope you can all get out for some relaxation sometimes. It must be hard for the person who is paranoid, they can never relax. How about mindfulness sessions?
I must admit that I have become a worrier myself, mostly about driving, (being a passenger is worse), also about things in the house not working - boiler, loose floorboards etc, at the moment I am already panicking about the wind forecast for my area tomorrow, as I have a tree in the garden and my fence is not brilliant. I lived in the SE when we had the hurricane in 1987 and a fence panel smashed a window at the back of the house and a tile smashed the car windscreen at the front, but I had an adult son living with me which helped. Now I am on my own. ☹️
but don't go straight to the blog bit and start posting - Gransnet HQ invite people to blog if the they think it is something suitable.
If you report your own post to GNHQ they may be able to advise you, there is a blogging thread I think.
Jalima , Elegan and MawBroon -- Very Sorry --- I have not put the appropriate material on this place.
This is my first time using this kind of Web-Site -- I have no idea how to blog -- have no idea how other messaging is done--- I'll stop putting in .--again sorry.
But for anyone interested I have put some photos up which I am happy for the world to see . --Bye
manny I can identify with what you said about having to repeat everything. My husband says "what?" before I've even finished what I'm saying. It's just become a habit.
I do have some sympathy with anxious husbands because I tend to be an anxious person myself - about financial transactions on the computer, banging or rattling noises on the car, etc., etc. It isn't very nice feeling there is always something horrible waiting round the corner to mess things up but I can appreciate it must be annoying for other people.
Usis I realise that your village is a real place and what you do sounds admirable, but would you be better starting a blog as this thread does not seem the appropriate place for this.
I think you can set up your own and people will follow you or perhaps ask GNHQ if you can write about your experiences and they will help and check that you are not comprising anyone's identity.
I think that's how it works - GNHQ- any ideas?
Usisavillage It has been said again and again, but I will repeat it. DO NOT MAKE YOURSELF IDENTIFIABLE Usernames are there for a purpose.
Lucky I have read every single post on here
but I've no personal experience with PD. I can only say that I hope you are feeling less stressed today and wish you and your lovely dh, best wishes. You've both had, and are having, a very tough time
Usisyavillage this all sounds very admirable but as M0nica said, we do not give personal details such as names and background on site. Even crossed through they are perfectly legible.
A good start to the day!
Auntyflo Me too.
Hmmm.
Sorry
Oh dear, I have an uneasy feeling about this one.
Good morning MOnica-- First, thank you for welcoming me as a new member. Second - Thank you for speaking your mind truly I'm NOT easy with using a "username"- my Christian name is Justin - born in Surrey, UK, then grew up here -when it was Nyasaland 1948 to 1965 I'm very English, with my ancestry coming from Barnstaple. I returned here in 2013 because I (Div 25yrs ago) realised my pension could provide for others in genuine need --so I've now permanent residence --please see profile.
Usernames can help the reader link an individual to somewhere and I do want to help place "Africa" and "poverty" into the readers mind -- so which name to use I'll work on of 2 more days.
What do I do -- Firstly, I care for a "slave girl" I rescued in 2014, and she now lives mostly in her own village just one hour away -- then helping with money, to fix grass roofs which are often destroyed during heavy storms paying for Medical treatment or Medicines when necessary replenishing food supplies or needed clothing etc or helping with School fees. --
You know- a few more healthy retirees should come and see this very beautiful place -- only a few hours flight --please Google= Usisya village , Malawi and see.
In a few days I will download lots of photos for all to see-
Hallo Usisyavillage. user names only. We operate under a cloak of anonymity. Anyway, welcome to Gransnet. I suspect you must be our first member from such a remote location.
How long have you been in Malawi and what do you do? Don't say if that might make you identifiable. I think an African viewpoint on many of our First World concerns will be very interesting.
Good morning readers/members-- I'm new and am living in a village on the shores of Lake Malawi, in Central Africa. It's great here but hardly see many other Europeans for months and months --so I'm hoping to share some good chats with English people so I have joined .?? Do I include my name when finishing?? my username is Usisyavillage.
Someone warned me against using Kaspersky for internet security (although someone else recommended it!).
Well, Luckygirl, that was a fat lot of use!
He spent 10 minutes here then got so fed up of the DGC peering over his shoulder asking him what he was doing, why, how and why he wasn't doing what they wanted him to do that I had to send him back. They were most upset.
Special Delivery and I hope he arrived in time for St Valentine's Day.
Lucky Girl, As there isn't a pissed off emoticon, perhaps you could just tell him to "piss off" yourself! Lol. Do you have an iPhone or IPad? I have and so do my children. You can use FaceTime on them to see and talk to each other and, in fact, it's better because you are stuck to a webcam With Skype on the computer. You can move around. I.e. Move to another room where he isn't! Any where where you can get on the internet, like a BT hotspot! In a car park! Any where! Now doesn't that sound like a good way to tunnel out!!!!
Someone mentioned the problem of being seen on Skype. I don't know if it is similar to Viber, but with that I can choose whether I want to be on camera or not (definitely not in my case). ?
Luckygirl get a tablet. Have your favorite magazine as an online subscription.

You can have the tablet set up for your email and your Skype accounts. You can then take it anywhere there is wifii you can log on to.
Plus there are adult education classes for over 50's to learn how to use their tablets!
Hello Luckygirl to be honest I haven't read all the replies to you but we use Facetime on my Ipad which is the same as Skype. My Ipad (or any Ipad) does not get viruses so it is safe to speak to your DD that way. Best of luck
hope he can cope with the DGC peering over his shoulder later on.
