My DD who would have been about 20 & living at home said she had seen an old man at top of stairs but was not frightened by the experience.

Last summer I was standing in our porch behind my DH who was about unlock the front when he shouted out There's somebody in the house.
We have glass panel at the side of front door looking in to hall and stairs My view wa obscured by DH
When we got inside my DH flew up the stairs after the intruder.
There was nobody upstairs or downstairs. All other doors and windows were locked and nothing had been touched (thank god).
DH was adamant about what he saw.

Our house is built on farm land that had an Italian camp on it during the war.
So who knows??

My father said that as a teenager he had seen a man at the foot of his bed in full Gordon & Sutherland Highlanders Dress. His dad said that it must have been his father (DF Grandfather). He was in the regiment but had been killed in the great war.

There are more things in Heaven and on Earth.....

All memories stored tightly away Petra I believe

They (whoever "they" are!) say that children are more receptive to seeing ghosts, etc.

I've seen a ghost and I knew who it was although I had never met him but knew of him.
I wasn't scared or frightened, we just looked at each other and he faded away.
The oddest thing I saw on this subject was the ghost of my friends dead cat. It cheered my friend no end to know that she was still 'around'
I think I posted on here some time ago that my granddaughter asked my daughter if she would be her mummy again, next time.

I believe some people are more susceptible to memories and more connected emotionally with feelings but I agree with those that say no such thing I certainly don't think the dead communicate with us apart from In our memory bank I certainly don't think mediums are really talking with our loved ones so I guess I do think they are all cons because they make money out of people's grief if money didn't come into it I wouldn't necessarily call them a con I don't think you can equate it with a policeman because I ve never met one that says give me a tenner and I ll look into your crime for you
I think ghosts are a figment of imagination which some people have little of and some have in bucket loads so in my opinion ....No such thing

My friends little girl was fidgeting, messing about and pushing her chair back on two legs whilst having her lunch
My friend said "You'll fall off that chair and hurt yourself in a minute!"
Her little girl said "No I won't, will I grandad?" looking at the empty chair next to her. (Her grandad had died a few months previously)

I have never believed in such things but they fascinate me. A couple of years ago our DGS, age 5, was visiting us and he suddenly asked, "Who is that man by the bathroom door?" DD told him I stop imagining things but I have always wondered if he did see something the rest of us couldn't! Our house is built on a plot that goes back to Roman times but I don't know if that has any significance.

I agree Anniebach. Although quite sceptical I did have contact with a chap some years ago who impressed me greatly. He didn't ask for money up front just said if I found what he said makes any sense then pay him, if not he wouldn't take any money. He told me things that could not have been researched but not predictions. It was an experience I have never repeated since.
There are more things in heaven and earth etc......

To declare all mediums are cons is the same as claiming all police officers are corrupt

I think there will always be conmen in all walks of life. Sad really.

I used to work with a lady who wouldn't call herself a medium, but certainly had a gift. One night she told me that a gentleman was standing behind me. She went on to describe my grandfather perfectly, even down to the age he was when his hair went white. This was confirmed later, by my mother. I've never seen a ghost.

Mediums are con artists, they extract the information from the person attending the meeting. They are so adept that people do not realise they have divulged the information. Normally you have to book an appointment which gives the medium time to research your background, easy enough to search archives of newspapers and so on.
I sense atmospheres in buildings but I don't think it has anything to do with the departed, more a sense of a happy home or not as the case may be.

We have been in contact for many years and have been given information from Spirit that no-one in the physical world could know. Also have seen things and had experiences from the spirit world. We rely on them for help with problems and always receive it. It is more real than the physical.

My first ever flat had a lovely atmosphere, really welcoming, and I felt a sense of the lady that lived there before. Nothing spooky; no happenings, but I was able to describe her, and knew she had died there, and where it had happened.

I had always thought it was a load of hogwash until we moved into our first flat when we married in the 1970s. There were some very hard to explain goings on there. Neighbours experienced things too. I personally don't believe that mediums communicate with the dead, but who knows?

tanith Sat 11-Feb-17 10:35:02

I don't believe the dead communicate, a fascinating subject but its all make believe and fantasy.

That is my opinion others will tell you differently I have no doubt.

MissAdventure Sat 11-Feb-17 10:26:34

Do you believe in ghosts, and has anyone seen anything that might have been one?
How about mediums? Do you believe that some people are able to communicate with those passed on?
Or is it a scam?
I have a fascination with these subjects, although I'm sceptical.
