Do you have an Earworm?

I can't get the tunes from 'La La Land' out of my head - we saw the film a fortnight ago and they keep popping up in my head - even when I wake in the middle of the night!

Depends what I have been doing or company I have been in but paw patrol or Bob the builder tends to stick ?

I hung a new picture in my hall, which says "All you need is love"
Now everyone who walls past starts singing it, complete with "wah wah wah wah waaah!"

Every morning for the last week it's been 'We went to the animal fair' running through my head. Today it was (still is!) the advert about controlling your home from your phone. Next week is half-term so it will probably be 'Shaun the Sheep'

Don't stop me now I am having a good time by Queen goes around and around in my head when I out cycling.

Whatever DH happens to be practicing most on the saxophone, plus a few BeeGees numbers after watching something about them on sky Arts at the weekend.
Usually I wonder why a particular song then realise it's being used in an advert.

We had a CD ,when grand daughter was small, of Jo Jingles and it would last all the way from Lutterworth to Lincoln where we visited my sister. Grand daughter would go to sleep listening to this and we never dared to switch it off in case she woke and was grumpy.
So 'My bicycle has a bell' is now my current ear worm and I haven't heard this for about 10 years! The brain is a marvellous thing but I do wish it would change the tune!!

Somebody told me that if you sing 'Happy Birthday to You' all the way through, it will get the thing you're singing out of your head. It works for me.

I find singing 'God Save the Queen' gets rid of my earworms.

My worst ever was ' Pass de Dutchy on de left hand side (?)! Why oh why? It lasted days. My DDs worst was Ring of Fire! She didn't even know she knew it?

I'm glad I actually read your message instead of just being put off by the heading. The idea of a genuine ear worm is horrific!

Yes, I have them quite a lot, very irritating. Someone advised me to sing Happy Birthday whenever you realise the ear worm is wriggling and it does seem to work most of the time - perhaps not immediately, you have to try it a few times.

Scales and Arpeggios from the film The Aristocrats is my current earworm.
My 1 year old Great Niece absolutely adores it, so it is played almost constantly when she visits her Gran ( my Sister).

The Shape of you by Ed Sheeran was in regular pkay by my eldest GS this weekend. I quite like it now

Im off to choir practce in a minute so Im sure the tunes we are singing will be going round my head all night. I was singing all sorts of silly songs to DGC at the weekend so had 'There was an old woman who swallowed a fly' on the brain for a while.

I habitually listen to BBC Radio 4. But after the One O'clock News I leap up to turn off before The Archers theme begins. If I don't move fast enough I'm doomed to have it as a tune in my brain for the rest of the day, minimum!

After choir last night it was the opening song of Joseph. ('im with the coloured coat.) Tonight's choir offering is a "Gloria" with far too many Amens. "Gloria in Excelis Deo" stuff.

Always a whole wormery! At the moment I'm switching seamlessly between "For Me And My Gal" (I was listening to my Harry Nilsson cd at the weekend), "Summertime" (obviously,it's Feb 6th ...) and Faure's Pavanne.

Yesterday - all day - was "Largo Al Factotum", don't know why,drove poor DH mad.
