General opinion is clearly wear jeans whatever your age. At 64 I intend to keep going with mine for as many years as I have left!
One cautionary tale, a friend of mine who is at least a size 14 if not 16, thinks she is a 12, buys a 12 and ends up with fat bulging out every where. Her jeans have to be bought from the places the youg trendy people shop, so her look in jeans is not pretty! Personally anything not well fitting is a no no, too tight equals ghastly uncomfy. My jeans have to have some stretch content and are worn with flattering tops. The friend's tops are as tight as the jeans, funny thing is she is always mocking how other people look but clearly sees a different look in her own mirror.
So the moral has to be wear what the hell you like but get the right size and cut!
