Ho hum, grey-ish sort of morning, DH out in his office with the cat, getting my hair done at 11.30 and just can't be bothered. It's a thought to even go and load dishwasher (how hard done to am I?), I would be quite happy with several trashy mags and numerous cuppas but I'd have to make the effort to go down to village and buy said trashy mags which defeats the object. Come on woman, make an effort to get off the sofa!

I had a day like that last week but my get up and go is back now. Just been to see La La Land (the least said about that the better) I think it is fine that we all have days of complete inertia.

Such a comfort to know I'm not the only one who could have stayed in bed this morning. It was an effort to wake up and get going, I'm back home now and still feel like a nap..............zzzzz.

Well the hair is lovely, very 'on trend', read several trashy mags with numerous articles about the Kardashians and Coleen Rooney, had two cups of tea and two chocolate Hobnobs and guess what? I'm now back on the sofa! I have decided to forget today and have a fresh start tomorrow. Hmm.....still haven't eaten all the Xmas chocs.......

I felt grim when I woke - DGD arrived at 8.30 and snuggled into bed with us. I was not sure how I was going to get through a day looking after her. But......up I got and took her for a walk and then she helped me to rake up some leaves and I feel fine now - that is my cure for everything - go out! It does seem to work for me, even when I have to drag myself out.

I am now joining the layabouts on the sofa, but feeling much better.

I hope all the bug laden folk will also be feeling better soon.

Good idea pensionpat???

I'm feeling like death warmed up today, fighting a chesty bug so have been in residence on the sofa since I came downstairs. I'm feeling very sorry for myself and I've even declined Hotel Chocolat treats, so I must be poorly! Don't fancy wine brewcupcake myself but happy to provide them for all other sofa occupants!

Katek when you make your list, make the first one "make list". Then when you have finished making the list you can cross off the first item. Great sense of achievement.

I will join you layabouts on the sofa.Cannot get motivated this morning and actually went back to bed for an hour.I am so cold as well. Another cup of coffee is in order and perhaps phone a friend.

I have been sitting at this maching all morning, ok got a few things done on this. When I should be getting the place ready for a Burns Supper Lunch for 30 people here on Saturday and DGS 5th birthday party in 3 weeks.
Just have another cup of tea perhaps..........

As an aside when we sold up in Scotland, a medium sized family home with a family of 5 living in it, the first agent asked us if we could delete the presence of the children as it made the house look cluttered. We deleted him.

Since when did having a loo roll on the wall need to be removed to make for better pictures. Don't house buyers wipe their bottoms !!

That has been me most days since having that virus (weeks ago!!)
Have put some washing on and may summon up enough enthusiasm to find a duster and flick it around.
Feeling down in the dumps since seeing a photo of my backside on FB. I need to find the low carbohydrate support thread.

brew with milk please

I too have nothing in the energy bank this morning other than sneezing and dribbling constantly - going to take up residence on the sofa with I-player.

Christinefrance Mon 23-Jan-17 11:46:42

Ha ha, I've just hoovered through, washed the kitchen floor, walked the dogs etc. OMG I even make myself sick, just collapsed on the sofa to see what everyone else is doing.
Enjoy the wine

NanaandGrampy Mon 23-Jan-17 11:28:35

Katek Mon 23-Jan-17 10:51:01

Kettle's on.......!

NanaandGrampy Mon 23-Jan-17 10:40:36

This morning my get up and go got up and left!

And slammed the door on the way out!!

To add insult to jury I had to get up to the alarm clock ( I hate that since I retired) THEN I had to put everything away for bloody estate agent pictures !!

Since when did having a loo roll on the wall need to be removed to make for better pictures? Don't house buyers wipe their bottoms !!

I'm coming round for coffee and trashy mags !

Katek Mon 23-Jan-17 10:38:47

I like your thinking swanny!

Oldgreymare Mon 23-Jan-17 10:38:27

Sounds like a case of SAD, January blues. My answer is to write a list of jobs ticking them off leads to a sense of satisfaction (says she who is half way thro' cleaning the bathroom and already taking a break!!!!!)

Katek Mon 23-Jan-17 10:37:50

Glad I'm not alone sunseeker-I'm trying to convince myself that I'm only listening to what my body is saying and not being a lazy toad!

Swanny Mon 23-Jan-17 10:36:29

I suggest you go to the hairdressers early and read the trashy mags there, along with having someone to make you a couple of cuppas grin
