Everyone always knows the chorus and bops along to it singing out loud. I always think that "dancing in the dark" is an apt phrase for setting out in marriage, so exciting!

When my daughter gets married in the summer the music will be provided by the grooms own disco, (his brother will do most of the DJing) and he has said it will be requests only, so no requests no music. They are going to put slips on the tables similar to karaoke and a nephew who is too old to be a pageboy is being given the task of taking round a box to collect the slips.

Will dance to anything

We had on of these invites last year. The evening do is after the wedding, after the tea party. Just come in the evening wile everybody is getting drunk. Buy your own drinks and was sent a little poem about how they did not want a gift, just a cash pressants.
We refused to go.

This is fairly common and ensures that the music played provides something for individual guests to dance to. Also that the dance floor remains full.

When our son and daughter in law got married one of their few extravagances was a live jazz band and we were thrilled to see all ages, including the young (mostly university) friends of the couple, were all up and dancing.

What a lovely request! I would choose a ceilidh tune for a Dashing White Sergeant. . That gets people dancing.

We watched a 1980s Top of the Pops on the tele the other night. The clothes and hair were amazing but what struck us most was the fact that hardly anybody moved from their spot and mainly waved their arms about. OH and I don't seem to have moved on from this 80s style so when we go to an event when there is dancing we try to get in the middle of the floor where we can't be seen.
