Are you dancing?

Whatever you think of go on Utube and you will see the song/music in action ie. Rock around the clock tonight, Gay Gordons etc. Then you can pick which one you feel fit to dance and put it on your reply.

Its a great idea. Have just had quite a party myself going though the options I can think of, and watching the dancing on the computer.

The Phil Collins' version of 'You Can't Hurry Love'. It's my DD's favourite and it got everyone on the floor at my sixtieth.

We were asked for requests to be sent with our RSVP to a friend's DD's wedding.

There was a lovely range of music played from Sinatra, Bennett etc to more modern tunes.

We refused to go.
I wonder if you were missed?

MY DD and SiL were in their late 30's when they married and had a small select party for the actual meal. Then there was an evening celebration and had asked for requests prior to the event.We had a great time and everybody danced ,the music was great as the requests ranged from the 60's (our era ) right through to modern day (teenage nephew and niece) .
Not everyone can have a huge flamboyant wedding and it's a way of ensuring as many people can join in the celebrations . Presents were not mentioned at all on the invites but I know they got cash and vouchers from many .

I've been to 2 weddings where this was done, it's a great idea, love it.

I don't like the evening do either Pinkshoes. I feel you're not good enough to go to the wedding but you're needed to make up the numbers in the evening. Not for me I'm afraid!

How about " Is this the way to Amarillo" to encourage everyone to get up and do that daft march thingy. Or "It's so good to have a man about the house" or smooch to It's a Man's World" .

Pinkshoes evening invitations are common. We had them at our wedding 42 yrs ago. H and I have had a couple and attended. Most people can't afford to cater all day for everyone they would like to invite. I find a free bar is the exception these days for the same reason.
The cash only request is a different matter but understandable if a couple have been cohabiting for a while.

I like the song idea, a good way to ensure the dance floor is full. 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody" ( if that's the title) would be my choice.
