Problem is with such things as nuclear warheads. Though I have never understood why we are allowed to have them and others not.
Trump's racist, xenophobic attitude is very sad - on the other had if he tries to get his compatriots employed, what is wrong with that?
Don't get me wrong, I don't like the bloke at all but one has to try and see the best of people, and him in particular.

Well......I'm hopeful and somewhat intrigued. I am very disenchanted with past and present politicians of all colours and persuasions. I'm certainly not 'worried'. That could make me ill or unhappy and would change nothing. One member of a recent (May) holiday group was a mature a practising American lawyer who laughed but sincerely told us to ignore the Trump thing 'not a chance'. I look forward to seeing what other impossible things he may achieve/impose. Interesting times indeed but I'm not scared. What's the point?

The understanding in most of the groups I belong to is that he will make the USA a better place for rich white males. He has already given instructions to his staff to identify anyone working to end violence against women and get rid of them. He is also appointing people who support violence against various minorities. The biggest danger will be when he insists on the UK imposing similar measures to keep US investment here.

Ronald Reagan was a better president than expected maybe Trump will be too. Not sure how much he will listen to his advisors though.

Obama couldn't do anything, he was thwarted at every stage by the Republicans. Piers Morgan did a good job of defending Trump on Question Time last night putting forward all the positives e.g. business "acumen" but failed to address the racist and sexist attitides that got him to the White House - which doesn't say much for american values and principles. So perhaps a case of "be careful what you wish for".

Obama has been criticised for doing nothing but his hands have been tied and he has had to fight tooth and nail for every change. No wonder the poor man looks so exhausted. I thought the Obamas were lovely, dignified, caring, genuine people and perhaps too intelligent and nice.

Well, US wanted the Trump. And that's what they've got. If he can get off Twitter and stop acting like a game show host, perhaps he is not totally full of hot air. I just think he is politically naive. I shall enjoy watching his education in the brutal ways of the world.

I agree with Annemac101. If he starts WW3 its the end of us all, now so many countries have nuclear weapons. Ive been worrying about this since before he was elected. I hope he can be removed before he does any real damage. Yes there have been other awful presidents but he is in a class of his own.
