Dignity in old age

Yes, last year when I had my double glazing changed. I was asked for somebody else to sign whatever and the look I gave the young lad was enough for him to blush and decide that maybe this old git who owns the house is okay to sign all on her own. I did not take it any further but I was not happy.

This happened many years ago. I am divorced but did not tell the fellow wanting my husband's signature. Instead I told him that he was a tad late and he would have to go to X crematorium. My ex is living in Spain. That shut him up.

Yes, when I went to buy a new phone. The young man who served me was very sweet so I couldn't really give him a tongue lashing.

When someone sees an old pensioner in the street they should remember they have not always been old. Every one has a past and could have been a professor in a university, or an ace pilot, or a sister in a hospital, a headmistress, a computer expert, or a senior manager. a doctor, a foreman, or if not they still have lived through so many changes to UK. They could have been a war hero but people think less of them just because they are a few years older than they are.

Surely people should show respect? I bet some of these old people could tell a tale or two if you asked them.

Anyone been treated like they have half a brain lately?
