Anyone who has noticed that she hasn't posted for a while might not be surprised to learn that she's unable to receive PMs.

We all know what that means.

Quite, Ana! Most of us who 'knew' jings knew when to take her seriously and when to ignore her.

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 15:24:43

With respect, Mumsy, you've been here for all of 6 months and some of us have known jingl for years.

Perhaps you didn't 'get' her but there's no need to be dismissive of another poster.

Maggiemaybe Fri 13-Jan-17 14:25:34

I'm sure I've seen Wobblybits this morning, btw, Cherrytree59. Can't remember where though!

Mumsy Fri 13-Jan-17 13:45:20

Nannyandgrampy you are certainly not alone in your comments re jingles, its getting pretty boring now!! I for one dont get why some people dont know why jingles was removed, it was pretty obvious to me by some of her postings!

kittylester Fri 13-Jan-17 12:19:30

If people want jings back, has HQ been properly approached?

Eloethan Fri 13-Jan-17 12:14:41

I haven't got a clue what the original post meant, hadn't noticed a poster called Belsisabelle, and wonder what the point is of posting cryptic comments.l

POGS Fri 13-Jan-17 12:02:26

I didn't have a ruddy clue confused

FarNorth Fri 13-Jan-17 11:33:37

If GNHQ wants to ban someone, that person should be told the reason and how long the ban is to last.
Have they really not done that or has jingls been mischief-making by claiming it was not done?

What on earth would someone have to do to get a permanent ban?

janeainsworth Fri 13-Jan-17 11:19:13

I realised who bells was quite early on as she addressed me in a particular way that no one else does.
The name was a give-away too, to anyone familiar with her posting style.
And no I did not report her, and doubt if anyone else did.
If I can work out who Bells was, I'm sure it's within GNHQ's capabilities too, whether or not they have any electronic means of detecting our IP addresses or whatever it is.
I think the vitriol directed at daphne quite uncalled for.
gj left of her own accord, having started a contentious thread and then when anyone disagreed with her OP, accusing them
of ganging up on her. IIRC.

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 10:58:45

I was referring to Bags's message when I (jokingly) mentioned waving!

I'm sure quite a lot of us knew jingl was about during her last visit but no one drew attention to her presence for obvious reasons.

Jane10 Fri 13-Jan-17 10:58:44

Has granjura gone? I hope not. I know she was going to be very busy over the festive season and was hoping to get back to skiing. I thought she'd just been otherwise occupied. Oh dear. She was kind and supportive to me and I think lots of us were following poor Minou's progress.

Cherrytree59 Fri 13-Jan-17 10:54:19

I think jings was giving a wave.
The clue was in the name
Bell is a belle
Also over xmas she posted a couple of quirky jings style posts.
The one that stuck out for me was the Christmas card thread.
There were also some jokey answers to other peoples threads again I thought in the Jings style.
I was alerted by another poster over xmas saying that she was back.
But for the life of me can't remember who.

thatbags I think is spot on in her post.

Also I'm not up on 'tech' but other people it may have been wobbley (who also seems to be missing at the moment) said that the IP address would show up
So it is possible that Jing used another device to register but then reverted to her own computer when posting so alerting GNHQ

Or it maybe I'm talking crap on the wrong track confused

NanaandGrampy Fri 13-Jan-17 10:46:34

No they didn't Merlot but I didn't have a clue that that was what was being discussed .
And now I do , you're right .

merlotgran Fri 13-Jan-17 10:44:17

Thanks, Bags, Ana and Roses for getting the point of the OP.

merlotgran Fri 13-Jan-17 10:43:23

Nobody forced you to get on it in the first place, N&G

NanaandGrampy Fri 13-Jan-17 10:41:20

Am I alone ....... in saying ....oh please not another long, convoluted thread about Jingl ????

She's gone. The reasons are only to be assumed as NO ONE KNOWS. Apparently, not even her.

And all the threads in the world won't bring her back.

GN is more than a platform for one poster and I am tired/fed up/ bored ( pick your own word) with threads about the conspiracy of her demise .

There ! I said what I've been thinking for a while . And I'm not sorry.

I shalll get off this particular bus .

harrigran Fri 13-Jan-17 10:35:21

There are those who are more acerbic than jingl ever was and they get to remain. I never could understand why people got so heated over her comments, she made many valid contributions and showed her caring side on many occasions.

Ana Fri 13-Jan-17 10:28:47

Well, I'm glad to hear she's not drowning, but she could have given us a wave!

I doubt whether she'll bother trying to sneak back on again...sadly.

Thanks Bags.

Maggiemaybe Fri 13-Jan-17 10:25:08

Me too. I don't do Twitter but I wish jingl all the best, and would love to see her back.

thatbags Fri 13-Jan-17 10:14:29

I think the issue with Jingle, in whatever devious new incarnation she might take (good luck with that, Jings), is that it doesn't matter whether nothing she says is deemed offensive. Her supposed offensiveness, or lack of it, is irrelevant to the fact that she has beeen banned from Gransnet, apparently permanently. So if she sneaks in somehow, as soon as HQ becomes aware of this –either on their own or by being told by another person who peruses the forums – then her membership is deleted.

Logically this means she must have committed a mortal sin according to the High Goddesses. I doubt we will ever know what that sin was. From what she has told me, she doesn't know what it was either.

Some people, like, I suspect, the OP of this thread, find this whole caboodle distressing in its apparent injustice.

Jingle, meanwhile, publicly declares on her Twitter profile that she has been banned from Gransnet and is "not waving, not drowning". I for one am glad to hear that.

Jalima Fri 13-Jan-17 10:13:41

I don't know why DaphneBroon is in trouble for asking no more than I did (and after me) - surely it just means someone happens to be online when a new thread pops up?

I am assuming now Bellsisabelle was jinglbellsfrocks back and not being contentious in the slightest. (nice name btw but i didn't twig on)
But sent back out into the wilderness again - pity

granjura went of her own accord I presume - but I will just say that I thought she was made of more robust stuff because, as DH would say, if someone is prepared to dish it out they must be prepared to take it. No offence if she is reading this!!
And if she is - how is Minou?

Lona Fri 13-Jan-17 10:01:02

Can I get half my bum on the back seat because I don't know who the second one is?

annsixty Fri 13-Jan-17 10:00:33

Plenty of room on top, as the actress said to .....

Rinouchka Fri 13-Jan-17 09:56:10

Oh my. I feel like Rip Van Winkle waking up after a 20-year sleep( 2 days, frozen GN). All this intrigue!
I am very small so will squeeze into back seat with others who are mystified.

NanaandGrampy Fri 13-Jan-17 09:48:04

I still don't know ! But I'm fond of a bacon buttie .... but ?Is always good !
