Was it dirty washing being washed in public?

What was disgusting about the washing on a line?

Our town has a facebook page that posts photos of people in shops in their pjs and indeed any other unsuitable clothing. One photo yesterday showed washing on a line and it was disgusting, they even named the area where it was found

I do have a pair of pyjamas in bright red fleece which makes them look like a leisure suit. I wear them over my nightie while I have breakfast. I suppose, at a pinch, I might put a coat on and go to the corner shop if there was something I needed urgently, but wouldn't make a habit of it.

And the tap dance down the aisles!

I went to see Top Hat last year, expecting too much now from DH!

Well Jalima the suit and shirt and tie are fine, but perhaps he could leave out the hat, gloves and silver topped cane.

Ana that was funny ( complaint to Tesco) and I liked the bit that said 'Tesco does not have a formal dress code ' ....so it doesn't have to be black tie then?
I do wonder when it became no biggie to wander about in sleepwear though.

I didn't have a shower this morning although I did yesterday and I will have one tomorrow!
My hair is better if it is left for 3 days or so between washes.

But I don't wear my pjs all day either.

I once got out of the car at the supermarket and realised I was still wearing my slippers - that's the nearest I've got to it.

Cant say it is something I have done before, usually too cold.

Just goes to show its a preference and good luck to anyone who doesn't feel the need to kit themselves out everyday. Im so glad Im over 50 and really rather un-noticeable when going about my business, whether its "stinking" due to not showering every morning or not. Good on them I say. If i see a pyjama clad person in sainsburys in the future I'll have a titter at the storm they've caused due to other pinched clean freaks

I was a bit surprised to see a large man in a tiger onesie outside Sainsbury's one day....

I like pj's for lounging in, I don't sleep in them ,if I decide to have a lazy day I will shower put on jewellery and make up and clean pj's,which are only ever worn once..I have done the bus stop run early in pj's and showered on return...one bathroom and 3 people needing it is a pain..it goes on need to get out on time ..I am last....I shower and wash my hair everyday...I love my lounging pj's

Well I wash my hair in the shower so it's an every morning job for me, I feel really mucky if I don't have a shower every morning which is only a feeling as I don't do anything in bed but sleep ( ?) I have seen mums drive their kids to school in their pjs (the mums not the kids) and I ve seen young people (teens) out in onesies

It's slovenly and hard to get into the mindset of anyone who would go out, albeit very close to home in their dressing gown and slippers. However, infinitely preferable to walking about with one's personal parts exposed

Actually, I think it would take quite a while until I actually reeked.

You certainly don't need to shower or bathe every day unless you're doing heavy manual work or getting dirty in ome other way(!).

I personally only bath 3 times a week. My skin is fabulous for my age

But as others have asked, if people wear their pyjamas outside, when do they wash? Surely people aren't getting up, showering, then putting on clean pyjamas to go out? If they don't, they must reek.

When we both worked shifts years ago one frequently took the other to work in nightwear so we could get back to bed quickly. We shared a car and when on opposite shifts made sense. Of course, guess which one of us was stopped by the police early one morning ............. ?

I quite like the idea myself. Haven't got the guts to wear the full bedtime rig out though including dressing gown. I do however leave my bottoms on, stick a t-shirt on the top part and a long coat.
