Shopping in your p.j.s

I do like to snuggle up in onesie or PJs in the evening but just as well I don't go shopping in my 'night attire' as I can only sleep in the nuddie!!

Angie95 I hope you do not mean that being 'baptised' made you a better person!! I know baptised people I would not want to be with too often!

Making some schools difficult to be admitted to makes them appear exclusive and some people equate that with 'better'. That is often not the reality!

Last summer I was more surprised to see 2 young women strolling around M&S in their tiny bikinis. Am guessing they were on holiday and what they do in Spain etc. ......

I'm guilty at home of changing into a comfortable onesie and can't imagine doing the housework in my good clothes. Onesies are practical and if someone knocks unexpectedly, I still look respectable

But shopping in my pjs .... No!

I wouldn't do it but if people want to that's up to them. Can't see what the problem is really; they're not hurting anyone and there are far more serious things to worry about

Absolutely no way would I EVER go out of the house in PJs/dressing gown etc. I won't even open the door to the postie like that, let alone walk around in public.

I just don't understand - it's falling standards and the old "it's my life and I'll do what I want and if you don't like it, tough luck" mentality.

I remember once being told off by my mother while out shopping as a young Mum for not wearing a pair of gloves. LOL.

First I never shop in Tescos. Secondly out here in SE Asia its normal wear and I do the same as you can get really lively pjs so why not show them off. And lastly I dont think its anyones business what you choose to wear. I hate to see people in skimpy clothes but I just go with the flow.

Well, personally, I feel it does matter how you dress to go shopping, simply because the "it doesn't matter" attitude seems to lead to a breakdown of good manners and behaviour in society. Do these people never look in a mirror before they go out? Are they all slim and beautiful? In which case, where did I at eighty go wrong?!!

I am showing my age too , I think. PJs are for home. not nipping to the shop or school. Yes m I have put my PJs on, when I have beem shopping, but they are more lounge pants and t.shirt. for the simple reason, I have arthritis in all my joints, and back, plus fibromyalgia and it is so painful, that wearing these in the home, helps a lot, The Primary school my daughter used to attend, has now banned the parents from the playground, the reason, is the parents were arriving, in not just PJs, dressing gown and slippers, yes slippers, but with mugs of coffee, tea, etc, I was amazed when a friend showed me a picture on his phone, his wife, also m,y friend had said it is making the school, look scruffy. When my children went there, we had to be put on a list, and even then, if they were not Baptised they didn't really stand a good chance, now, anyone can go, because parents have taken their children out, It is just lazy!

Does it really matter how you dress to go shopping. This afterall is the 21st century and not the 18th

Good heavens!! I've NEVER seen anyone shopping wearing PJs !! It's something I. Oukdnt do as even in order to walk the dog I get showered and dressed and put my makeup on too!!! What bothers me is that presumably the PJ wearers haven't washed before going shopping!! Yuk!!! I guess I'm old fashioned but I do feel dressing appropriately is quite important . What a dreadful example to set to children!!

I would say if you cannot be bothered to dress to go outside then you must be a bit sluttish. I dread to think what your house must look like inside. Maybe they should realise that walking about in pyjamas in a shop tells people a lot about them and their lifestyle. Just plain laziness imo. It takes seconds to pull on a top and a pair of trousers. Make an effort why don't you.

I would never shop in pyjamas but I find it unnerving that people feel they can randomly take photographs of others when they are totally unaware and put them into social media sites also I find it more offensive in the summer months when men and women shop in skimpy shorts vests and very little else

On holiday in America it seems the done thing for whole families to turn up for breakfast in their PJs, some decent some def not, and it is spreading. Staying in a Mercure Hotel in Bristol last year a whole hen party came down in the morning dressed in their night attire, couldn't even be bothered to brush their hair. I say get room service or shop on line, I certainly don't want to see it.

Think the FB thing smacks a bit of big brother but hey life is changing now.
Daily showers/baths are a personal preference not a necessity, some people would say it's not ecologically sound. There are arguments for and against but think we have been swayed by advertising etc. When I was a child a bath once a week was the norm.

I don't do it as a need but I really enjoy a morning shower it wakes me up I have a sing song and I feel fresh and nice to start the day I don't feel dirty as such if I didn't just not fresh I would hate to not start the day that way

I know that there is no need, but my personal preference is to shower everyday otherwise I would just feel dirty and avoid contact with others

Antiperspirants last up to 48hours so they say on the can....really who smells that fresh after 48hours of not even a cats lick and a promise.....

Daily bathing in temperate/cold climates is unnecessary! We are overly obsessed with cleanliness imo. Washing and bathing when dirty/sweaty is to be recommended but on an average quiet day ..no need!

And I'm sure I'd reek exude a faint aroma if I only showered every other day and lived in the same clothes for 48 hours. Yuck.

I can't function without shower and hair wash everyday my skin and hair are fine as well

It's been an eyeopener to me that a daily bath/shower isn't the norm I honestly thought it was. It always has been for me even when we had a tin bath behind the door, and later a bath behind a partition in the kitchen, filled to a depth of an inch from a tiny boiler. I don't think my skin has suffered in any way Perhaps a whole new thread?!

My view is that it is a 'fashion' trend and really, in the great scheme of things not very important. I would not personally shop in PJs and dressing gown but they are not hurting anyone! The less 'air' they get the less it will be a clever thing to do!

I stood behind two sweaty women the other day in Waitrose in their gym / jogging clothes as they were queuing for a free coffee..that was not any better/worse imo.
