??? Such a funny thread, I have tears running down my cheeks causing DH much consternation. He wants to know what I have written about him.

Mine whistles. Very tuneful but constant. I can always tell where he is.

My FIL used to shout 'yabba dabba do' whilst sneezing. How he did it, I'll never know.

Oh yes the sneezing . I don't mind jumping out of my skin if he is driving but if I am..... How have these men survived to reproduce. There is a gene pool of loud sneezers.

Slurping drinks. Annoys me no end

Mine is a know all - can't tell him anything because he knows it already! Drives me mad especially when we are watching tv quizzes and as the answer is being given he rushes to say it first. Grrrrrrrr!!

I'm a loud sneezer too witzend, sorry.
Think I have more irritating ways than my husband including getting irritated very easily.
The one thing which does get to me, he does all the cooking as he was a chef but forgets he is no longer in a professional kitchen and uses every pan and utensil there is which I then have to wash up. Maybe a small price to pay for lovely meals though.

And another thing!
Dh often doesn't use the correct word for something - but a 'near enough' and then wonders why confusion ensues.

He just asked me, when I was busy doing something else, whether I had 'a tin for pins'. So I went to get my pin tin out of the sewing basket, only to realise that what he wanted to tidy away was 'drawing pins' - different storage altogether.

Yes, I know it's so trivial and I shouldn't moan, he's so good in general - but why the couldn't he say 'drawing pins' if that's what he meant? This sort of thing happens a lot...

I'm also a loud sneezer.
I'm sure they could be measured in decibels.
The DH thing is crumbs!
When he makes a sandwich or cuts a piece of cake on the bread board but the whole area including floor is strewn with crumbs. Including wherever he chooses to eat it.
Grr roll on summer.
Then we can eat outside and leave the crumbs to the birds.

DH used to have a loud bark of a sneeze but after I complained (for years) he tries to stifle it and it now sounds like a disgusting snort.

What I find irritating now is the way he answers me. Everything is preceded with "what".

"What? yes"
"What? no"
"What? that would be nice" .....grrrrr!

My OH lets the neighbours know when he sneezes too. He also slides his feet back and forth when he's sat down, really annoying when your watching telly and can see them out the corner of your eye.
He has recently started to do a small sniff every few breaths, for no apparent reason. I have asked why a couple of times, he stops for a while and then it starts again.

Witzend not OH but now neighbour does VERY LOUD SHOUTY SNEEZES, wherever he is in his house we can hear him.
OH is a singer of old adverts all the time.

Haha! Am afraid that I am one of those loud sneezers! It makes DH ( and anyone within earshot) jump.
DH has his own annoying habits though, he seems to scatter apple pips wherever he goes ( eats a lot of them) and has 'jumpy legs' they never stop moving ( when seated, obviously, otherwise it would be called walking.)

This thread is such a comfort to me. I'm not alone. Phew!

Mine sneezes for about 6 times in a row every morning. Drives me mad, althought he probably can't help it. I don't say anything, because I sneeze very loudly, too.

It's all the other things to do with noses that annoy me. From snoring to continuous clearing of throat.

Loud sneezing and coughing has been with us forever, the new thing is tapping, can't seem to sit still now. When I point it out (kindly you understand ) apparently Mr C is unaware he is doing it. Do I need to worry?

I thought all men did the loud sneezing! It does make me jump at times.

Yes, Witzend, my OH used to do those loud sneezes while apparently shouting 'Aaachoooo!'

If he did it when we were in a supermarket or other shop, everyone would turn and stare at us...

I so agree about the loud sneezing and also loud coughing and throat clearing. It just doesn't have to be voiced!! Grrr.
Luckily I'm perfect (apart from the flatulence!)

The teeth sucking is dreadful. I put up with that for about 2 years when it suddenly stopped. It is now the humming and singing the first line of a song all day. Today's choice is Tonight To night won't be like any night... And there it ends for about 5 minutes when he starts it again. I have to go and lock myself in the loo. Constantly wondering if it would be any defence if a trial ensues?.

sighing here - non-stop negative sighing - aaaargh

My FIL was always drumming on the table, while (usually) staring into space. Very irritating!
The only thing Dh does which really gets to me is MASSIVELY loud sneezes - he 'voices' them, if you know what I mean, so there is a massive shout at the same time.

He did it once when dd1 was very new and wee - she was so frightened and cried for ages. He felt very bad then, but has still done it ever since.

I've told him over and over it's not necessary to YELL while sneezing, nobody else I know ever does it, but it's water off a duck's (drake's!) back and I gave up some time ago.
Anybody else's Dh do this?
