Good Morning New Years Day

A nothing sort of day. Dripping with cold rain most of it. Decided I wasn't going out. Did some washing. Hung around hoping that some more of the people I emailed yesterday would and answer. No luck.
Sleepy, as I went to sleep by 11, but woke at 4.30, and nearly dropped off playing on computer this afternoon!
Making a steamed pudding. Going to bed early.

Happy New year, it has been a gorgeous sunny day here in S.W.Scotland, bit cold but blue skies never the less. Hope 2017 is a good year for all GNERS

Good evening. Just lit the fire. Had a sherry and mince pie. Got the lamb steaks out will pan fry them for dinner in 1 hrs time and then sit by the fire with husband and watch some TV.

Just got on-line. Took myself by surprise this morning and decided to de-frost the fridge freezer which has taken rather longer than anticipated. (It was bad!)

It's miserable here in Norfolk - grey, wet and 'orrible. The wonderful early evening end-of-the-pier fireworks at Cromer have been postponed because the forecast is so bad. I hope it's not an omen for 2017!

Happy New Year to everyone! We had got tickets for the fireworks down at the Thames and it was FABULOUS! It was a cheerful, happy event and a good time was had by all! The Tube was free but busy and people in our carriage were chatty and friendly . Got home at about 2 am.

Stayed up for the New Year but now struggling to get up with a second cup of tea. Blue sky here about 4degrees.

Varying amounts of rain are forecast for the day so I hope not to get caught in downpours when I walk down to DS and family for my first dinner of 2017. Love to all

It's bright and clear in the Tyne Valley. The birds are singing and there's not a breath of wind, everything is still. I also went to bed before midnight, but was kept awake by the fireworks which I could see from my window. Consequently, I'm late up! Son coming for lunch, we're having venison. Start my walking this afternoon!!

Good morning, Michael, and all GNs and my best to you for 2017! It is wet and dreary in South Yorkshire. We did stay up to see in the New Year, but only by the skin of our teeth! DD et al are coming for lunch today, and we are looking forward to seeing them. I hope the first day of 2017 is kind to you all!

Good 2017 Morning. Been up most of the night with DH coughing - he's gone back to bed and I need to keep the house quiet so he can get some rest. I shall cook a HUGE Roast Beef lunch to warm his cockles.

Loads of fireworks around here. Listened to them while tucked up in bed. DH had to go to work at 5am. I am now sitting with DGS1 making a lego fire station.

North Leicestershire is dark and wet. I woke at midnight when a few fireworks went off but went straight back to sleep and slept till 6 but have woken with a headache!

I am still aiming to sit down and do little today so I hope the TV is good.

Good morning from France. The fog of yesterday has disappeared, to leave a flat, dank and cold morning. Getting the open fire laid early - as much for cheer as warmth!
