Hi last Mounth my 11 year old grandsons school decided to bring in a new uniform and replace the tie and blazer uniform and replace it with a jumper and polo shirt uniform what's people's opinion on this ?

Current / old uniform
School blazer
School tie
School shirt
School trousers
School shoes

New uniform
School jumper
School polo shirt
School trousers
Plain black footwear

Students can wear the new uniform from the start of next term but it's not conpulsary until September. My grandson wanted the new uniform so I bought it him yesterday the cost was reasonable
School jumper £11x2
School polo shirt £9x2
School trousers (already got them)
School shoes / plain black converse trainers from asda £7

It was in the news the other day that a private school had chosen a uniform that you could buy in Asda. A huge step forward- hopefully more will follow.

No.

You said "I think the new uniform is a brilliant idea I think the old one is unpractical and unessary" (unnecessary?)

It seems we all agree with you so there's nothing else to be said, is there?

Hi Pumpkin there have been a few threads started periodically that seem to be exactly the same as you have posted, almost identical with the shoes/ photo and list of items and prices. That's why people are thinking it's he same person under different names

This thread is as annoying as the one on FB which asks you to post from all over the globe so that primary school children can see how fast messages travel.

Elegran Mon 02-Jan-17 11:08:53

Maybe there is some connection with that online textbook about social media that had a link to an actual Gransnet thread - the thread then received an avalanche of posts from students trying out their new-found skills, rather like poking sticks at caged animals.

Ana Mon 02-Jan-17 11:03:33

Usually, the thread's been taken down by now but I suspect no one CBA reporting it this time! grin

Considering this has been happening for years, I really think the teacher should rethink their lesson plans or add 'and don't you go bothering those poor old people on Gransnet - they get confused!'tchgrin

I'm just wondering is this a joke or is it some sort of assignment set by some teacher or school curriculum somewhere. -"Go onto one of the many on-line chat sites. Post a message with a question and monitor your replies. A suitable subject might be a change in school uniform"
Sounds likely doesn't it!

Bellanonna Sun 01-Jan-17 17:06:08

Anya, yes. Rather sad really.

FarNorth Sun 01-Jan-17 16:34:00

Pumpkin300, people's opinion seems to be that the uniform change is very sensible.
What is your opinion of it?

Jalima Sun 01-Jan-17 15:36:06

Gosh, DaphneBroon I just rushed off to Harrods to buy those bargain Loakes shoes and they were SHUT!!
