Inlaws are never invited to Windsor family gatherings ,they make an appearance on the balcony on the wedding day then vanish

It could also be that her great grandchildren are spending Xmas Day with their maternal grandparents. Perhaps the spin doctors in the CC advised "Granny" that the public may wonder why maternal grandparents were not invited to other, large family gathering and a good excuse was needed.

I don't really mind what Royal littles wear. I just wish all children were fed and adequately clothed, not shivering in refugee camps.

In the photographs I saw, Prince George's coat is buttoned to the right before the church service, and to the left afterwards. Did he undo it during the service perhaps?

The queen has always been in my life as a constant and it will be horrible when she's not around.

It is extraordinary how worked up we all get about the Royal Family. And I'm just the same. I've been worried about the Queen and Prince Philip ever since it was announced they had "heavy colds".

I think this is because many of us think of them as our proxy-parents. People of my age (70) thought our parents were immortal - until they died. Then there was a dreadful gap. Of course the Queen and Prince Philip won't live forever, but while they are still with us let's just be grateful for their huge contribution to the stability of our country.

And now they are leaving their country pile after the millions spent on it. I suppose it will be there for the odd weekend.

sunseeker Surely the "nanny" or other family members would keep the children occupied for a major part of the day. I can't see they would be around the Queen much. After all it's not like there isn't room to take them else where

What a strange thing to say Skullduggery. Of course our views are formed by what we read in the papers, amongst other things. But like others I haven't been reading many papers just before Christmas. I suppose my point was that I think there is room for both families in William and Kate's lives, at Christmas and at other times as well.
