They have to pay up in advance! I am quite unashamed that I read the DM. One of the weirdo's the DM trawled up for this article even admits to making a profit on the family Christmas lunch.
I can understand a family where no-one can afford to do lunch for, say, 14, deciding to estimate the cost of the meal and all agree to contribute an agreed amount to the event organiser to cover the cost of catering, or share providing the meal around the family, one doing turkey another vegetables and another, pudding. But charging as if it was a restaurant and making a profit on it.....!!!!!
And the article made it clear, none of them needed the money, all had good sized family incomes.
