I ought to be panicking as I'm hosting the annual Christmas pantomime at my house tomorrow evening followed by a buffet for the cast and families and 12 on Christmas Day for dinner.

But I'm sat here, totally chilled, thinking I ought to wrap the Christmas presents some time soon. I really don't understand why I feel so 'que sera, sera' and, no I've not hit the Christmas sherry yet, 'cos I ain't bought any tchgrin

Here's wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas.

My Christmas food anxieties always seem to centre on getting satisfactory SPROUTS. I am a bit obsessed with them, to be honest. I would like to report here that our Christmas meal 2016 will include beautiful, green, fresh looking SPROUTS and now all is well with my world (for 5 minutes until the next drama that is!!) xx

H and I walked out of Tesco early this morning and felt smug looking at the queue of cars trying to get in the car park. It's a large car park too. I won't be goung near a shop except maybe for milk until next weekend.

Did it all with DD yesterday. Going to a Carol concert tonight , weather permitting.

Got the fresh vegetables, milk and cream yesterday. Now finished and will not venture into a shop until the new year! Boxing Day I will be parking up in the local supermarket car park but only because it is right next to the park where I go for my walks!

He is merlot!!! DH is polishing all the shoes! We are all done - going out for a lunchtime curry in a while.

I was at my local Waitrose for 9am, it opened half an hour earlier and it was hell on earth trying to park and also shopping inside. One would think that there would be no food until at least Easter. I needed very little so I was out quickly with my free cup of coffee which I reheated here. I only have to clean downstairs now if I remember where the hoover lives!

Feeling guilty rather than smug -DH is doing the shopping. He said he'd rather do it himself if I gave him an idiot proof list than try to take me in my current state to do it. Am sitting nice and comfy with cup of tea and cuddly cat just wondering what he'll actually buy. I do appreciate his venture out into storm Barbara. Its really horrible outside.

Wow, you have every right to feel smug M0nica! Enjoy your rest now. DH has just popped out for the papers, bread and milk at the local Co, after that we are staying far away from shops until next year probably. 'Cept for tomorrow's papers of course. Must go and find a duster.......

Likewise Lucky! Though, I have to say that I feel a bit 'lost' tchconfused I've done Christmas for all the family for over forty years and I'm finding it difficult to rearrange my neural pathways!

We were going to do a bit of last minute food shopping but I just googled the traffic in my area Northolt and boy did we change our minds.. now we shall take a walk through the park to the local co-op for a few bits job done.

Just got a bit of housework left to do. All shopping done and dusted. No shops now until the New Year. Even more smug because we used the local shops rather than a supermarket although it was just for the last minute fresh stuff grin

Luckygirl Fri 23-Dec-16 10:14:43

Double smug here - someone else is doing the shopping and cooking this year! tchgrin

DaphneBroon Fri 23-Dec-16 10:10:25

For anybody leading an assault on a supermarket near you

DaphneBroon Fri 23-Dec-16 10:06:43

I would go back to bed now M0nica!!

It is 10.00am and I am back home having done all the Christmas shopping, food and presents, and I have no intention of going near another shop until the New Year. Any top-up shopping will be done at the village store, probably by other members of the family.

We were at Waitrose at 7.10 this morning and shopped in a quiet uncrowded store, very nearly first in at the turkey farm at 8.00am and the farm shop at 8.30. We then came home and read the papers over a leisurely breakfast.

I have now sat down to peruse Gransnet before decorating the Christmas cake.
