Another December wedding here for us - 34 years. He's the best, ...... after the dog!

Luckygirl Fri 23-Dec-16 08:39:01

46 here - and it is lovely to hear all your happy stories.

He has changed hugely because of his PD and is different from the person I married; some personality change - either due to the illness or to his drugs. But I signed up for better for worse and I just enjoy the moments when his old self shines through. You do not know what life will throw at you and have to look for the good things.

Happy Christmas to all you loved-up couples

40 years for us and I wouldn't change a thing good or bad.

He still reminds me of what I wrote in my diary when we met
( I tell him people never hear good of themselves smile ...

' He's a nice guy, but not the sort you want to go out with ' smile

It was 55 years for us in September.

dogsmother Fri 23-Dec-16 07:43:22

Congratulations ?
We were a mere 30 last week. As it's this time of year we always swap cards and he buys me flowers. Same every year, what do you do (December weddings).

ffinnochio Fri 23-Dec-16 07:39:35

Congrats jg flowers

42 years for us. Thee first thing my husband said to me this morning had me laughing, and I was reminded of how fortunate I am.

BBbevan Fri 23-Dec-16 07:28:08

kittylester that is so lovely

Jane10 Fri 23-Dec-16 07:08:31

I was just thinking that this morning. We're obviously novices at 40 years though. He really is my 'other half'. Ups and downs obviously but when the chips are down boy does he come through!

kittylester Fri 23-Dec-16 06:59:30

You are right, Kate! I count myself lucky that we have grown together over the years. Other couples I know have not done that.

NanKate Fri 23-Dec-16 06:53:47

45 years for us and still going strong even though my family thought I had made a big mistake.

We are the lucky ones as Ana rightly pointed out.

Long may the good times continue for us all. Time for a toast wine

Bbnan Fri 23-Dec-16 06:43:44

46 years for us and I still love him to pieces. We have weathered a fair few problems but talk all the time and laugh loads. He is a great father and fabulous 'pa' and my best friend as well as the love of my life!

BBbevan Fri 23-Dec-16 06:18:07

52 in January.

harrigran Thu 22-Dec-16 23:58:22

53 years and still going strong.

ninathenana Thu 22-Dec-16 23:54:23

Nearly 42 yrs.
He annoys the hell out of me sometimes but he's still my best friend and the kindest most considerate and generous man I've ever met. I don't want to think about him not being here.

Shanma Thu 22-Dec-16 23:50:39

42 years here, been through some terrible tough times in the last 8 yrs, but we spur each other on, drawing strength from each other when needs must, and thankfully we both have a rather warped sense of humour which always helps

mumofmadboys Thu 22-Dec-16 23:45:02

A mere novice after only 35 years!

cornergran Thu 22-Dec-16 23:09:56
