It is taking me a while to get over this virus, my get-up-and-go seems to have gone.

And I am sleeping later in the mornings.
Must buck up.

Tut tut! Thought that all Gransnetters were up and about at 6 a.m. Fully showered, dressed, and coiffed, with a moisteriser and a bit of make up, am very shocked at all the sluttishness late rising going on...dear dear, furry dressing gowns, flannelette bedding, pj's.....anyone would think we were old and had nothing to do.

I've had a real stinker of a virus. Been off work and in the house for four days. I swear I'm getting cabin fever. I've seen no one apart from my husband. Family &friends don't want this for Christmas. The thing is while I'm at work I dream of days in the house doing bugger all nothing, I've sat about watching 'call the midwife' and today 'goodbye mr cripps' I've cried during all of them. I expect it's because I'm feeling a bit rough, but now I'm feeling really miserable. I hope retirement isn't like this. My sister assures me it isn't that I'd be out and about. I do hope so. Sniff sniff??

we regularly stay in bed until after ten,but then we dont go to bed until 2am or later most nights.Always been night owls and our work is seasonal so this is our quiet time so we'll happily sit chatting listening to our vast collection of CD's until the wee small hours then lie in until one of us decides we need tea or to eat

I was always a big "duvet day" fan when I was working but now I'm retired & could have one every day if I wanted, I find I'm up & about well before 8 most days. I do force myself to lie in with a coffee, book or iPad every once in a while...and that's always when the unexpected visitor arrives!

Was (note WAS) going into town early today as have to order replacement backing for wing mirror DH managed to break off yesterday, bless him (!) but woke to thick thick fog ..couldn#t see the opposite side of the road so reckoned the roads were better off without me today ...and if left car in garage wing mirror backin wouldn't matter (stuck it back on with tape for the moment !) so made a lovely hot cup of tea and went back to bed (flannellet sheets as well !) with tea and a magazine .....bliss ! for an extra 30 minutes ....hope tomorrow is not the same as I really do need to make an early start as most shops close between 12 and 2, or sometimes 3,,and I don't want to be out when it gets dark !!

My 'arise wench' daily prompt is a certain morning tv show (0915) which has gone on Christmas break. Guess what has extended?! So much reading to catch up on. Also have temporarily moved into guest room as decorating is going on in mine. Back to electric blanket. Such bliss I had forgotten. Oh yessssss..........any excuse will do!

This is my third day ill in bed with temperature and the worst cough I ever had. Could it be anything to do with nursing the grandchildren when they were ill last week I wonder? Meanwhile arrangements are falling apart proving what my mother always says, that I am the linchpin of the family.

All 6 DGC stayed the weekend & the older 3 only went home last night so yes! I did lie in for a while this morning but had to get up as man came to read the meter! Swine!!! I do wish they would warn you - my understairs cupboard is a glory hole!

DH has a cold [it's man 'flu] and has been tossing, turning and coughing all night, I gave up at 3 and have been up since then.
I hope to have a nap before I give blood this afternoon!

One day when I was looking after my DGS then aged 4, struggling to get him dressed, he asked, 'Can't we have a duvet day, Grandma?' I'd never heard of it till then. Where have I been!

I feel about as energetic as a dead flea, but I must make the effort to drive into town and get something suitable for tomorrow. I've got four old ladies coming to a Christmas coffee morning here and so far have done nothing about it.

Showered, walked the dog, had breakfast, looking at Gransnet before going to podiatry AI 11 am. Tesco delivering between 1&2 pm. That's busy enough and I'll just hang out the washing . Bye.

I am almost unable to move, did some babysitting last night and have been overdosed on Troll movies, in the company of a 6 year old diva, whose picture was on front page of local paper (as she was such a hit as Mary in the nativity play)...I am entitled to time under the duvet today. I am entitled to a world cruise and a toy boy, better in my experience than flannel sheets but nowhere near as reliable.

If it's only 10 to 9 with you, I should just go back to sleep if I were you!

Up & dressed but not doing much - I can't lie in bed (too uncomfortable) so once awake I'm up, not always dressed but I am this morning, first jobs make drink, grab newspaper, feed cat, turn on laptop, check emails & facebook (Bank balance if necessary), do Sudoku then Breakfast - lazy mornings where possible. Yesterday I had to go for Blood Test followed by Podiatry at 9.30 so no lazy morning, making up for it today

Buy PJs that look like track suit bottoms and teeshirts/sweatshirts, so that you look as though you're up & about

Lucky devils. I am up at 6 to get my gd off to school had to be in class by 8.10 so I hate rushing around get up do my breakfast and my h then wake her at 6.30 she leaves at 7.20.

Up since half six but feeling very morose today. No money left until the beginning of next year! Downstairs is my lively GD playing with my 32 year old son and DH. I want to dive back under the duvet but got so much to do. Last minute craft fair might earn me a bit of cash.

Sitting in the bath reading GN here! In my defence I have been out and walked the dog!!

I'm up but not dressed. I've got to catch up on Gransnet first. I can hear my husband walking about upstairs so soon he'll be asking me if I want a cup of tea? So more delays in getting on with my day while I drink another cuppa. Oh well as long as I am sorted by lunch time as our son is coming for lunch. Ever since I discovered Gransnet (last May) that is my priority now!! And long may it continue
