Completely blown away as I was privileged to be at is birth. He is now 28 about to start his own little family and running his own business. There are now 7 other grandchildren and 2 great grandsons all loved greatly.
Congratulations on becoming a Gran .

I was on nightshift when my granddaughter was born. I got the phone call, and ran round the nursing home telling the staff and any residents who were still awake. It was the best feeling in the world. I fell instantly in love with her when I went to see her. She was beautiful then, and still is, nearly ten years later. She now has three younger brothers.

Overwhelmed. He is now 26 and more than 6ft, but the feelings don't change. He was followed by six more, and I love them all equally.

I have three grown up sons. Two are in their forties and one is in his late thirties. My first Grandchild was born in July this year to my oldest Son and DIL. On day two I very proudly joined Gransnet. I felt I'd earned my stripes haha.

Obviously I was delighted at becoming a Gran but I wasn't able to meet the little one straightaway as my Son lives in Barcelona. I had to settle for a while with the lovely, warm feeling that being a Gran brought. Then, last week I went to Barcelona to meet my GC. I know this is probably 'old hat' for most Grans but I was unprepared for how I would fall head over heels in love with 'Tiny' as my DIL calls him.

I returned home on Saturday and I'm still 'buzzing' at the experience and just wanted the share with other Grandparents.

I'd love to hear how others felt when they met their first Grandchild?
