Emptied the basket of ironing! Made a Christmas cake wrapped three parcels. Have a G&T in my hand

Well I'm pleased my gastroenteritis isn't any worse, but I wouldn't say I was happy about it. I suppose these things take longer to improve when you are older!

Seeing an old friend and grumbling about our respective ( grown up ) children!! No one else is allowed to

DD1 is off work and DGS 1 was at. Friends house so she rang and asked if I would like to have lunch with her. Although I see her often it was especially good to have her to myself for a change.

My friend and her DH have just visited, not seen her for six months. Her father is sick and she is at his beck and call 24/7 so I was pleased that she could find time to visit. We had champagne and a laugh

Ozzie gc's are here. The postman has just delivered mail and the 8
year old looks in amazement. 'That letter just came through that funny thing in the door Mum '.

Husband found a screwdriver in his car, not his, after it had been repaired.Today I took it back to the garage and the man actually laughed - I think he was pleased.

Yesterday afternoon a friend and I went for a mooch around our local 'posh' deli and then had hot chocolate at a nearby cafe. It was great to have a good chat before we both get taken up by family things over Christmas.

I went to Tescos this morning and there was a choir of teenagers belting out songs to their hearts' content in the foyer

I went out for a Christmas lunch with three school friends whom I have known for 58 years. We meet up every December and have a great afternoon together

We had DGS2 and DGD3 for the day. Bertie is a lovely thoughtful 4 year old little boy and Persie is a feisty but loving little madam! Considering they had the Idiot for a father and had to live with us for a year they are a credit to their mum and her new partner.

we thought we would have our first ever quiet Christmas- and we end up with a crazy 3 legged cat, 2 mad borrowed dogs, and young visitors from London arriving on 26th ...

ah well, not quite ready for a quiet Christmas it seems.

blood tests all normal but a slight deficiency in vit. D. lucky we are off to cuba in a couple of weeks...

Two things: a clean bill of health from the dentist again and we've finished the b****y Christmas shopping!

I'm happy today because after nearly 3 months of work being done on the house, we are moving back into our own bedroom tonight and it will have an ensuite shower room

Went to a Carol service in DDs village Church this evening and was amazed to hear the processional carol, Once in Royal David's City being beautifully sung, solo, by DD.

To hear that, after my grandson kept me up all night while he was being sick, he is now feeling much better! I shall be raiding his money box for the cost of cleaning the landing carpet!?

Lunch out for DS's birthday and GC were allowed to open their Christmas gifts from us (they are at their other GPs for the actual day) the excitement for even the smallest gift was lovely to see.
