Our local NatWest plays hideous music, really loudly. I really hate going in there, but had promised to pay some money into my son's account.
I was dreading it - but I opened the door and ...silence. I was so excited that for once it was just like a Bank and not Primani!
It made my day.

Knowing that GS is better, full of beans and back at school, and that he has had a happy day.

Wow!!! My cousin used to work for the IMF and his wife was an interpreter at the UN. Both retired now though.

A picture of my Dgd2(age 4) accompanying her mother to work at the UN today as the nanny was ill and chatting with the new S ecretary General, a very grandfatherly man. DD just sent it on WhapsApp.

Eating Victoria sponge sandwich in a caf. That, and a decent cup of coffee, for only 3 quid. That is about as good as my day got. #notbad

Just back from having a pedicure and walking on air!

Watching the blue tits on my Christmas tree in the garden that i have covered with fat balls. They also were investigating the bird box buried in my clematis. A cheeky robin was on the bird table, i love watching which birds are regular visitors. We have a magpie, doves, blackbird, both male and female and pigeons and a family of sparrows live in our covered archway!!!

Getting interesting letters about family history from a distant cousin in the US!

After experiencing some sort of RSI type pains in my arms in 2015 and not really been able to knit in in the last part of that year, I have just started knitting a hat with not too many problems. I had accupuncture early last year which really helped. I am taking it very carefully at present but I do feel more hopeful.
Some of this problem seems to be in the mind and I have to conciously control the tensing up.

A bright sunny winters day, a cheerful hairdresser being funny whilst I had a (rare) wash n blow dry. Reading the paper whilst cared for relative had a long nap, with bright sunshine still coming through the windows.

I've had an unexpectedly fabulous day. Got up late ( that's always a bonus for a bad sleeper) went into town bought my husband a jacket he's been longing for for the last three years £200 then just by chance looked in a jewellers and admired an eternity ring. My size just what I have been looking for for 20+ years £500. On my finger as we speak... result! smile had a lovely lunch in restaurant with wine. Visited son and family, welcomed with kisses and cup of tea. Perfect perfect day the best I've had for years.

Happy anniversary, BBbevan and many more to follow! The thing that has made me happiest today has been bidding a not very fond farewell for another year to a seven foot Christmas tree that has blocked all the light out of our living room since it went up! DH's impulse buy! I am now sitting here, looking at the view again. Next year he had better have a strategy or he and said tree will end up outside!

LadyGracie Mon 02-Jan-17 14:09:46
