Our local NatWest plays hideous music, really loudly. I really hate going in there, but had promised to pay some money into my son's account.
I was dreading it - but I opened the door and ...silence. I was so excited that for once it was just like a Bank and not Primani!
It made my day.

She's very sweet kitty

kittylester Thu 12-Jan-17 16:12:01

Actually, Lottie is a little whatsit!

Last time they stayed she went into DH'S study, despite the door handle having been changed so it needs lifting up rather than pushing down. While she was in there she changed his Laptop screen to upside down and wrote all over his appointment book.

After they had gone home we realised that his Swiss army penknife was missing from its hiding place. After panicky hunting for ages we found it carefully placed behind a pull out set of drawers - presumably for retrieval next time!

I love her to pieces! grin

Saw my 12 day old granddaughter (only grandchild) for the first time since Sunday!

celebgran Thu 12-Jan-17 19:24:44

Oh ladygracie how lovely for U congratulations

Greyduster Thu 12-Jan-17 19:29:10

I fell off the dry January wagon and had a glass of crisp white wine with a lovely boeuf stroganoff. Failure never felt so good.

I was having a cuppa in a cafe with DD and little GS. A lady came in with her DH in a wheelchair and helped him to take off his coat and to eat part of a sticky bun. My 11 month old DGS is at the stage of wanting to be on his feet although not yet walking on his own. Having gone around the table holding on to his Mums fingers he stopped and gave the gentleman a huge smile. His smile was returned and the gent said 'hello'. As the couple left. The lady stopped and said to my DD ' Thank you so much. That is the first time my Husband has smiled or spoken for weeks.' We came home feeling very humble and happy.

Lovely story gilly.

I created this! It might not be very much but, for someone with no creative streak at all, i was so chuffed. DH bought me a day's flower arranging course for my birthday and the tutor gave me so much confidence that I'm going again!

celebgran Fri 13-Jan-17 09:52:01

It looks beautiful kittykestrr
What a lovely story ref gentleman in wheelchair.

Well my dear hairdresser more like a friend been doing mum hair for over 10 years worke her magic yesterday somthat was a happy report!

Greyduster Fri 13-Jan-17 10:48:11

Love the flowers, kitty! Well done! I finally have a light in my oven, after the engineer came out and wrestled the glass cover off with a large pair of pliers (so what chance did I have?). I can now see what's burning going on with my culinary offerings!

Greyduster Fri 13-Jan-17 10:48:50

Nite to self: Must get crossing out sorted!

AlieOxon Fri 13-Jan-17 14:05:50

I have sorted out my printer so I can send coloured scans to the USA!

I played poo sticks with my 6 year old grandson. It was great fun. It gave us the opportunity to have a little chat. He told me "guess what nanna, my daddy sleeps with no clothes on. It's gross" There were other little nuggets of information. 6 year olds can't keep secrets can they

NanKate Sun 15-Jan-17 07:58:35

My DS asked my GS (soon to be 4) 'Now who do you want to invite to your party' ? GS replied immediately 'Nanny and Grandad'. That's my boy grin

Love your flower display Kitty

How wonderful Ginny that your little GS could get such a positive response from the man in the wheelchair.

Auntieflo Sun 15-Jan-17 08:55:37

Ginny, your story reminded me of when my Mum was in a care home 25 years ago. She had moved to be nearer us, and our DD used to bring GD to visit. GD was passed around the residents, a bit like pass the parcel, and when theyhad gone home, one of the staff told us that it was the first time they had seen one old gent smile when he had the baby. My GD is now expecting her first baby, and I hope he/she brings as much joy as my GD did.

AlieOxon Sun 15-Jan-17 17:55:10

Seen my littlest grandson!

Bellanonna Sun 15-Jan-17 18:08:22

Me too, Alie. Nonno and I took him out to lunch and for a change he was well behaved and didn't get up from the table once. He's usually all over the place. At 4 he's really interesting to talk to ( chatted more to him than DH who refuses to wear a hearing aid " because I can hear without". Yeah, right.)
Kitty that arrangement is lovely. Was the gift idea your own or a surprise from Mr KL? I like the idea for myself, tho I'd have to wait till September.

Bellanonna Sun 15-Jan-17 18:10:41

I've got a Lottie too, Kitty. Now in her early 40s. In fact same two names as Wills' and Kate's daughter. I think Lottie is a cute version of Charlotte.

Lona Sun 15-Jan-17 18:24:55

A friend called to see me this afternoon and for two hours we didn't stop talking! She only lives up the road but works away a lot. I was feeling very low and she really cheered me up! smile

kitty Lottie has definitely got that mischievous twinkle in her eyes, she's gorgeous, and so is your flower arrangement sunshine

celebgran Sun 15-Jan-17 19:48:04
