Little things that have made you happy today

Watching the blue tits on my Christmas tree in the garden that i have covered with fat balls. They also were investigating the bird box buried in my clematis. A cheeky robin was on the bird table, i love watching which birds are regular visitors. We have a magpie, doves, blackbird, both male and female and pigeons and a family of sparrows live in our covered archway!!!

Just back from having a pedicure and walking on air!

Eating Victoria sponge sandwich in a caf. That, and a decent cup of coffee, for only 3 quid. That is about as good as my day got. #notbad

Dd1 asking if we'd like to go away on a family weekend at Easter and a friend who collected eon her car who had put the heated seat on so it would already be warm for me.

A picture of my Dgd2(age 4) accompanying her mother to work at the UN today as the nanny was ill and chatting with the new S ecretary General, a very grandfatherly man. DD just sent it on WhapsApp.

Wow!!! My cousin used to work for the IMF and his wife was an interpreter at the UN. Both retired now though.

Knowing that GS is better, full of beans and back at school, and that he has had a happy day.

Doing a bit of hoeing in the garden today and it was flooded with the smell from a winter sweet shrub - absolutely delicious.

If I knew how to do attachments on these posts via my ipad, I would attach photo mentioned above. The UN session was meant to allow the new Sec General to meet the journalists based at the UN. Obviously, they come from all over the world.According to my DD, he spent far more time chatting to 4 yr old GD than to any other (adult) individual journalist.
Spoke to GD today on skype and she told me he was a very nice man who looked like her grandpa !

Can add that having Skype as a live link makes me very happy every time I use it despite the great distance that separates OH and me from two DDs and their children. It is wonderful!

The exploding head sensation that has been with me for weeks along with 'the cough' left for an hour. Its back, but I have hope.

I met two new friends when I went to the supermarket, talked to another new friend on the phone and exchanged several e mails with another. This may all sound very ordinary but I moved to this area when my dh passed away and today made me feel I had done the right thing. I've been here for two years and already people know me.

I've just had a long FaceTime chat with the elder of our two step grandsons who called to thank us for his Christmas present. It was a nice surprise. Unfortunately I had just changed into my pyjamas which was a bit embarrassing but hey ho!

The antibiotic has kicked in after two days and my dental abscess isn't just as painful

Hearing birds singing early today when out, planning a trip out tomorrow which will involve coffee and cake. Having a nice phone call with a cousin.

DD told me she was out with GS1 and they saw the Big Issue seller outside the local shops. GS1 asked what he was doing so she explained that The Big Issue is sold by homeless people. He immediately went into a shop and bought a packet of biscuits and gave them to the surprised seller.
