Our local NatWest plays hideous music, really loudly. I really hate going in there, but had promised to pay some money into my son's account.
I was dreading it - but I opened the door and ...silence. I was so excited that for once it was just like a Bank and not Primani!
It made my day.

I remembered to put out more food for the birds.

I've just heard that DD2 has won an American short story competition! She is now an award winning published author. I'm so pleased for her and proud.

Today we put our tree up and very nice it looks too, if I say so myself. We have had it for years and I keep thinking we should get a more modern one but my DGD says it is comforting so it is staying tchsmile

Yesterday went to Golf Club Christmas Lunch with 6 friends -lots of laughter and Christmas singing, together with an excellent lunch.

Having my ingrown toenail removed. Can't wait to wear shoes again instead of old sandals or wellies.

1. Had my hair cut and blow dried. Feel ready for Bridge Club Christmas dinner tonight.
2. Ordered Donald Trump loo roll off E bay to amuse our lads when they come home for Christmas. How childish of me!!

a long-lost cousin of DH's from Tasmania- I got to know well on FB last 2 years- is coming to visit next year for her 60th and we will go touring Europe together.

And grandkids telling us on Skype they are coming (with parents) to ski nearby for Feb half-term - so we will see them in Jan when we go and again in Feb when they come ..

A young family member is suffering from life threatening depression. To see the extraordinary lengths that his siblings and other family members have gone to in order to support him is truly heartening and humbling.

Had a phone chat with a friend instead of using email

Discovering how white youngish birch roots are inside.

I've finished putting all the decorations up and have just cleared the spare rooms of all the detritus ready for sleepovers this week. Feeling very virtuous. I must have earned myself a nice glass of wine

Dropping DD off at her house with the Christmas Tree and baubles that has been in our family for the past 25+ yrs so she can now take over the tradition now, we have no space in our apartment for it to be displayed, she can now do all the climbing in and out of the loft every year winkWhat a relief says OH.

My husband and I (oh, I sound like the queen) went to a Salvation Army Carol Service in our local park which was enjoyable and then to our eldest daughter's for a delicious roast beef meal smile

Pleased for you Allie I know the angst your last lot of neighbours caused you.

AlieOxon Sun 11-Dec-16 12:59:52

For the first time in 6 years I am happy about my neighbours in the other half of this semi!
They had been moving in for several days and yesterday I went round to say hello - and they are nice people.....big relief.

Auntie flo, love the wrist warmers, my daughter broke both wrists in a bad fall 8 years ago and now gets a lot of pain especially in winter. Shall look online though can't crochet......well done they look good.

Hearing the doorbell at 9 am to find DSiL had called to pick up their bread sauce and he had 2x DGC in the car. Just time for a quick cuddle before they set off for football and I don't suppose they noticed the bed hair and pjs! grinblush
