GN is no more for me. I have no idea why I stuck it for so long. I am sure there are some nice people on here, but every time I log in I see mostly the same old clique, perhaps I should have typed Coven.

Anya and her " cronies" who have not enough brain to be able to articulate something without resorting to profanities.

Elegran who is so terribly bland and boring, yet obviously spends alot of time madly googling an answer to almost every question here to make herself look clever...didn't work Elegran.

DapneBroon " Poetry", is that what it was? I wouldn't give up the day job Daphne!

I do not mix with People like the above in my real life, why on earth would I want to do it here?

Bye Bye. Enjoy your little cyber nit picking. I suspect if I were to read the posts in some months time that not a thing will have changed. YAWN

Marmark1, have you actually read the op, ?

Elegran Sat 03-Dec-16 20:05:42

Somehow, I don't think that she will be happy with anyone for feeling sorry for her.

I don't know what she hoped to find on Gransnet, but she seems angry with GN that she didn't find it. I hope she is luckier from now on

tinaf1 Sat 03-Dec-16 19:57:06

Have been lurking on this post today ( don't post much and try to steer clear of anything to controversial) I'm glad the last two posters have requested no more mickey taking of the OP although she should not have posted what she did given the time of her post and looking at some of her posting on other threads ( says she hasn't been happy for years ) I think maybe just best to let her go and hope she feels better about herself soon

kittylester Sat 03-Dec-16 19:40:27

I agree Anya! On reflection, I feel really sorry for her and think she has genuine problems!

Anya Sat 03-Dec-16 18:34:16

Just a plea not to make fun of the OP.

Rinouchka Sat 03-Dec-16 17:33:08

DaphneBroon, you are a joy!

Maggiemaybe Sat 03-Dec-16 17:03:04

Well, according to Shanma it makes us bears of very little brain, Anya, but I think I prefer your take on it smile

DaphneBroon Sat 03-Dec-16 16:52:24

Perhaps this was the trouble

DanniRae Sat 03-Dec-16 16:48:40

Oh dear Shanma I know from a reply you made to a post of mine (about Christmas jumpers) that you are a very unhappy person. This is so sad when most people on here are either happy or if life is being difficult for them they are trying to be positive...hopefully with support from Gransnetters. I think you need to seek help and your GP is your first port of call.

I hope you are reading this thread...I suspect that your are ...and wish you all the best for the future.

jollyg Sat 03-Dec-16 16:25:46

Elegran my maths is not so good, only managed to scrape a lowly mark.

So if you think I keep a tally of frequent posters and their comments, I dont. However certain names pop up with regularity, and I have found thats best to avoid at all costs.

Mea culpa to having one one of my posts villified, however I know to steer well clear of replying to that particular posters posts.

Charleygirl Sat 03-Dec-16 16:21:53

FarNorth her criticisms are way off beam.

MargaretX Sat 03-Dec-16 16:17:55

I can't ever remember reading anything she wrote.

Perhaps she is depressed or needs a drink or something.

FarNorth Sat 03-Dec-16 16:04:27

Even if Shanma's criticisms are correct, they're hardly worth storming off over, imho.
V strange.

GillT57 Sat 03-Dec-16 15:44:48

bye

Granny23 Sat 03-Dec-16 15:40:40

I'm distraught that I have been (I'm sure inadvertently) omitted from the list of "I do not mix with People like the above in my real life". I would hate to be regarded by Shanma as someone with whom she is pleased to mix. I had already placed her on MY (very short) list of "people, whose approval I seriously do not want'.

millymouge Sat 03-Dec-16 15:36:03

Don't often post but the few times I have asked for help I have always had support and good advice. I find it odd that Shanma posted the way she did. It almost sounded to me like a cry for help, as though she was very angry with life and needed to vent her anger at someone. I can only hope she finds some peace.

Anya Sat 03-Dec-16 15:34:48

That was my take on it Maggie and I gave the same advice does that make us cronies great minds!!

Juggernaut Sat 03-Dec-16 15:22:18

Its unusual to 'meet' a person such as Shanma.......and that isn't a compliment!
Quite honestly she's done precious little but moan, grizzle, bitch and insult folk on here since she first appeared, and I, for one, shan't miss her!
And if I do miss her, it'll only be until my aim improves wink

Maggiemaybe Sat 03-Dec-16 15:19:27

Shanma. I don't think you really gave yourself time to get to know Gransnet. You haven't been here long and some, but by no means all, of your posts have been very abrasive. Your OP here is embarrassing. Striking out at individual members like this is unacceptable, and your comments are very unfair and spiteful. You have spoken of your problems in real life, and Gransnetters can be very supportive, given half a chance. My advice, for what it's worth, would be to draw a line under this, register again under another name, and make a fresh start.

Marmark1 Sat 03-Dec-16 15:12:29

Good grief, talk about the pot and kettle, what a nasty shower some of you are. Reminds me of the play ground.

Luckygirl Sat 03-Dec-16 15:01:31

OK - got that - I will see what I can do! grin

Elegran Sat 03-Dec-16 14:33:36

Luckygirl and Jollyg You are not TRYING hard enough. To be included in the favoured list you have to be bland and boring BUT utter profanities and criticise other posters. You must reply to anyone else's sniping remarks with a pointed remark of your own, and agree with anyone who says that they don't like the tone of a post (having the same opinion as anyone else will make you part of a clique, that is always a target)

You'll just have to post lots so that you become one of Gransnet's most prolific posters and as such fair game. If you can inject a bit of feeble humour into your posts it will help give something to sneer at. I can't guarantee that you will then join the favoured few in the firing line, but you will stand a chance.

thatbags Sat 03-Dec-16 14:11:10

The sign of a clever person, it is said, is not that they know the answers to difficult or odd questions, but that they know how to find out.

Izabella Sat 03-Dec-16 14:07:08

Oh dear ........

sunseeker Sat 03-Dec-16 13:13:09

I find the OP rather sad. First because someone feels she needs to leave GN and secondly because she has resorted to insulting other members. There are several members who hold the same views and I suppose could be perceived as a clique, however, doesn't that happen all the time in life? Some discussions do get a bit heated but as others have said we can either choose not to get involved or wade in with our own opinions. I would hate for GN to become a site where nothing more than knitting, health and holidays were discussed.
