GN is no more for me. I have no idea why I stuck it for so long. I am sure there are some nice people on here, but every time I log in I see mostly the same old clique, perhaps I should have typed Coven.

Anya and her " cronies" who have not enough brain to be able to articulate something without resorting to profanities.

Elegran who is so terribly bland and boring, yet obviously spends alot of time madly googling an answer to almost every question here to make herself look clever...didn't work Elegran.

DapneBroon " Poetry", is that what it was? I wouldn't give up the day job Daphne!

I do not mix with People like the above in my real life, why on earth would I want to do it here?

Bye Bye. Enjoy your little cyber nit picking. I suspect if I were to read the posts in some months time that not a thing will have changed. YAWN

Before it's deleted
This ode I will write
To one who has chosen
To attack with such spite
It may not be Wordsworth, or Stratford's own bard
But fairness and charity aren't so hard
If she feels that on GN there's far too much bitchin
If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen
Nobody's perfect, as we all understand
But for those who have troubles
We're all here to hand
And comfort and kindness as you'd hope from a Grandma
Are still to be found, if you seek it shanma.

She has certainly made herself known in that short time.

Actually I think Shanma is to be pitied - she is obviously a very unhappy person who takes her own frustrations out on other people. I hope she finds some sort of contentment soon.

I would also like to add my support for Elegran, Anya and Daphne and anyone else she has offended though I doubt they will have really taken it personally.

And, why has some one with a trigger finger reported Shanma?confused

tanith Sat 03-Dec-16 10:21:54

Whatever your opinion of specific posters there is no need for nastiness just leave without comment .

Luckygirl Sat 03-Dec-16 10:21:03

Shanma? - who is Shanma?

Nelliemoser Sat 03-Dec-16 10:18:16

Flipping Heck Shanma If that is how you feel please take your rude opinions with you ASAP. I do not really know your user name but I don't think you are new here.
We will probably have a much happier place.

We might still have rows but I have never heard such unjustified personal attacks on so many individuals.

Please "Go at once" As the bard once wrote.

shysal Sat 03-Dec-16 10:11:53

I see from the 'new members' thread that Shanma joined on 25th September this year. No mention of being a reincarnation.

annodomini Sat 03-Dec-16 09:58:06

I wonder what on earth you expected from Gransnet. No, Shanma, please don't answer that.

shysal Sat 03-Dec-16 09:56:29

I have only just come across this thread and am appalled that it has not been deleted due to the personal attacks. Shamna has named some of my favourite contributers to GN! I think this is the most angry I have felt since joining at the very beginning. Good riddance is all I can say!! angry

phoenix Sat 03-Dec-16 09:46:27

I am absolutely shocked and appalled by the OP! (And I'm not easily shocked)

Not only does it go againt the guidelines/rules of GN posts, it is incredibly rude. Personal attacks are just not acceptable.

Charleygirl Sat 03-Dec-16 09:45:50

Totally unnecessary to be so rude to named individuals. If you do not agree, either make your point or move on.

Your name has cropped up a lot recently (and you have not been pleasant each time) so I suspect that you have had a name change for some reason.

baubles Sat 03-Dec-16 09:45:01

I'm sorry you are so angry that you find it acceptable to insult people on a public forum. I hope you are happier wherever you move on to.

Elegran, by the way, is one of the kindest, most thoughtful and smart women I have had the pleasure to meet. Your comment about her speaks volumes about you.

thatbags Sat 03-Dec-16 09:33:35

My youngest daughter is a member of Generation Snowflake. Anyone less like a snowflake does not exist on this planet. When one uses a term in a general sense one is using it as a broad brush. Individual people are made of fine brush strokes.

Check out the first twenty minutes or so of this interview if you're interested in understanding the term better.

Auntieflo Sat 03-Dec-16 09:28:22

Shanma, from the first you were not nice!. I have come late to this thread, and my first thought also was, why announce your departure? but a couple of others beat me to it. Did you want a host of " oh please don't go" ,

thatbags Sat 03-Dec-16 09:25:21

The phrase "Snowflake Generation" is a comment on the state of our education system and our social mores. It's not a comment on individual people, so it's not an insult.

Marmark1 Sat 03-Dec-16 09:21:59

Shanna.your opinion is as valuable as the next person.Don't let the bullies win, remember insecurity is usually behind bullying,we are not all like that.
But if you go, I wish you well, but I think you'll find all on line forums are the same,i.e. Bullies and em(shall we say unstable] Most of us are just us,good people.

ninathenana Sat 03-Dec-16 09:20:02

Like kitty said why feel the need to announce your departure ? It seems an excuse to insult individuals.

grin Envious

Mumsy Sat 03-Dec-16 09:15:16

just thought its 'grousing' season grin

glammanana Sat 03-Dec-16 09:10:27

Wow !! how unpleasent can a person be would you say the same things face to face with people you have met I think not,if you find the theme of a post not to your liking move on to another which is more your style don't just insult people as you have done here.I have been a GN member since day 1 and always found members to be knowledgeable in most topics and helpful when there has been a problem either on line or by PMs.

Mumsy Sat 03-Dec-16 09:10:18

Too much drama this time of the morning!! obviously not a people person! yawwwwnnnn

DaphneBroon Sat 03-Dec-16 09:09:15

Wrong side of the bed?
Oh dear, despite the tenor of the post, I am sad that anyone feels it necessary to hurl insults at individuals in this way.
As far as this individual is concerned, shanma must be confusing me with someone who gives a sh*t.
But what t is GN coming to? tchhmm

NanaandGrampy Sat 03-Dec-16 08:56:04

Crikey - nothing like a good flounce first thing in the morning !

Rude doesn't cover it. And unnecessary.

Personally, I think you reap what you sow so maybe Shanma you might like to look at your own posts before blaming others.

Good luck with your search....elsewhere smile

Rinouchka Sat 03-Dec-16 08:35:36

Hope this kind of vitriolic post does not identify GN.
Sorry that this poster feels the need to behave like this and hope she finds what she is looking for elsewhere.
How arrogant to comment on other people's intelligence! shock

italiangirl Sat 03-Dec-16 08:30:45

I have been able to find a sense of balance in being on Gn and a few tips on all sorts of stuff ,shame on the op .It would be a boring world if we all agreed as far as I am concerned gn rocks.

Anya Sat 03-Dec-16 08:29:40

I think life on the forums can be a shock first time. I wouldn't like to think Shanma would be driven away by her experiences, but might learn from them. She'd not be the first to react angrily to what she perceives to be attacks, intended or not.

She might like to consider taking to HQ about a name change and coming back to try again.

ginny Sat 03-Dec-16 08:15:17

I never understand why people announce that they are leaving. Rather nasty op and as others have said , if you don't like what is happening on a thread just don't add to it.
