I had an envelope this morning from Battersea Dogs Home containing, as well as the request for donations, 10 items. Usual pen, wrapping paper ,cards, gift tags, book mark, table mat etc. The most annoying is the page of pesky gummed labels with my name and address printed on, they have to be shredded and it gums up the cutters. Surely these " gifts " are counterproductive? One wonders how they can afford to send them, and disposing is a nuisance so makes giving unlikely. I give regularly to several chosen personal charities so it's not meanness , I just don't like the coercion.
