Isn't Freecycle great, and aren't some people generous?

I've had all sorts of things from Freegle including the sofa I'm sitting on atm.

Ana when I went to collect she said that at one time all the family had one each, but the children had left home (for Uni) and didn't use them anymore, so they were just going to waste.

We disposed of a number of things on freecycle this summer and it was clear that they were taken by different sorts of people - I suspect that the dining table went to a dealer; but a printer went to a young geeky lad who was touchingly thrilled with it.

Yes, I think I was very lucky Charleygirl, when the poster got back in touch saying that she had another Kindle, I must admit I was suspicious, as previously somone had posted a laptop, then when I expressed interest, said they has relocated to Scotland, but I could have it if I paid the courier charges but this was entirely genuine!

We advertised DH's violin on Freecycle, the one he learnt to play on, aged 12, and not touched in 50 years. It was quickly taken, and a few weeks later we saw it for sale among the lots at a village hall auction. We were not amused.

You were exceptionally lucky phoenix, that was an excellent find. Every plant I possess in this house came from a Freecycler, saved me a fortune.

Some people can be very mean- I have a fitted wardrobe which needs a bit of covering as the floorboards seem to produce a load of dust. I saw the off cuts of a nearly new carpet on Freecycle locally, went to pick it up to discover it was a bag full of rubbish. The carpet pieces may have been new sometime but not within the last 30 years,I binned the lot.
