The French version of the WI calendar, of special interest to womenfolk?!

I'm with Day6. I've always thought my husband more attractive when wearing a smart suit. Even more so in a dinner suit. Slouching around the house in comfortable, ( often old ) clothes doesn't quite do it. Says me, who does the same! I should look to my laurels.

Agreed Day6! I like a nicely cut suit any day over the muscle six pack look, brains and a sense of humour are my thing smile

Lilyflower good for you. I married a thin intellectual but they are out of fashion now and we don't tweet or Skype but understand each other.

I thought the men with their trousers half down-or half up a real put off.

I can look at the pics and think "nice looking guy!" But like a lot of women, I need to know and like the personality and make an emotional connection before being really attracted. Someone's looks can grow on you if you like their personality and character.

These pics are doing nothing for me - they look barely human. Does this mean I am over the hill!? Sigh.

I agree with those posters on this thread who do not like beefcake. I prefer thin, elegant, sensitive souls! I think the sexiest thing a man possesses is his brain. Obviously, everyone needs to keep in trim!

My second home is opposite a fire station and I can watch the firemen coming and going but sadly there are no hunky specimens, they seem to be quite weedy considering the job they do. I have even seen them strip off their waterproof trousers when they have come back from a shout and that is an experience I don't wish to repeat shock

Am married to a librarian and have just fallen off the sofa laughing at the thought of him on one of those calendars! He now wants to know what I'm laughing at. Oh dear. Better go and calm down.

Deedaa Sat 03-Dec-16 21:13:40

We went to an open day at an Italian firestation and all the firemen were very lovely, but sadly fully dressed.

Superopa Sat 03-Dec-16 21:04:40

Well having read the above threads i think i will have to dig out my suit, although wearing it to Sainsburys and the library might make my wife suspicious.

Well sitting here in France profonde and one of the poorest departements in France (Ariege) and very rural/agricultural, none of the local farmers resemble any of those in the calendar! And the pompiers calendar doesn't cut the mustard either.

HannahLoisLuke Sat 03-Dec-16 16:47:59

My favourite is the chap with the horse. Now I'm going to check out the firemen calendar. Thanks ladies and Happy Christmas x

Left me quite cold. if you want to see men with nothing on you can go to a mixed sauna in Germany.
Tryin to hold up a boiler suit in a sexy(?) manner looks awful.

I like the dog walker too. Most natural one. Fit but not like a gym bunny. Also like the long hair - spoilt by the Pose!

I too like brains/mind over body but a bit of self care helps too.

At least there aren't many tattoos. I hate tattoos.

goldengirl Sat 03-Dec-16 12:06:30

Don't think the farmers around here look quite the same envy

David1968 Sat 03-Dec-16 11:04:03

Ooh la la!

Leva Sat 03-Dec-16 10:45:09

If only the nuns who taught me were still alive I'd send it to them for Christmas!

Welshwife Sat 03-Dec-16 10:29:38

Our Fireman haven't been round yet with their calendars. They put photos of everyone in full uniform but also some of the fires and crashes they attended during the year! The calendar is no good for putting appointments etc on though - is wrong sort of paper to write on and squares too small!

leeds22 Sat 03-Dec-16 10:19:16

Farmers round here (N Yorkshire) never get their flat caps off, let alone their kit.

Sheilasue Sat 03-Dec-16 09:42:28

One appeared on my FB page of young French farmers semi clothed. Oo la la

Lupatria Sat 03-Dec-16 09:42:02

well i enjoyed the calendar! now undecided whether to find it on amazon and buy it or move to france!!
even if they're not farmers they're a sight for sore eyes and i would enjoy this hanging on the wall - maybe in my bedroom where my grandaughters don't go!!
reminds me of the chippendales - did any of you go to their shows? i went to several and enjoyed them - even got to go up on the stage once and [shock, horror] got my hands on a chippendale where not many get their hands!!!

Disgruntled Sat 03-Dec-16 09:08:16

Yep, definitely the mind over the body for me. I didn't get as far as the piglet, but did wonder how many of them are heterosexual....A sharp wit, a well constructed sentence - they turn me on.

Wobblybits Sat 03-Dec-16 07:47:56

Luckgirl. your Asda must be different from ours, a summers day means, vests, beer bellies and hairy armpits.

ffinnochio Sat 03-Dec-16 07:16:52

I find the mind sexier than the body. There's simply no contest.
