The bag was very heavy and when I lifted it I bumped it against the top of the bin and it swung taking my hand with it , happened so easily, only had an X-Ray and splint, not doing a long car journey to the main hospital - unless it happens again , I do have very skinny fingers , no meat on the bone

So sorry things aren't working out on the home front at the moment but they will do eventually. It will be lovely for you to not have to climb that hill!

Have you had a Dexa scan? Surely a finger bone shouldn't break that easily, but if it was very heav bag of rubbish as you say, perhaps that's all it takes...

Broke a finger by lifting a too heavy, too large bag of rubbish into the wheelie bin , felt a twit having it X rayed,, did you fall? Did you trap your hand ? Did something very heavy fall on your hand? Nooooooi I lifted a bag of rubbish.

I phoned the council, the housing officer was on leave last week, she said i will ask buildings now, yep he is on leave this week.

And things get worse, had phone call this morning, - John McDonald is visiting the constituency in January , dinner and lecture, guess who has the honour of meeting and greeting

Just keep your mind on the future when you are finally settled in what sounds like ideal accommodation for you (and a new kitchen!) and your finger is well again! Think how great it will be!

Oh dear Annie nothing worse than being at the mercy of other people. And a broken finger .

Can you get your DD give council a rollicking on your behalf ?

I had to do this myself with problem with my MIL. The housing authority has left her warden controlled flat till last to put in a new kitchen and bathroom in.
She has dementia and needs to be rehoused till work is complete. ( Our house due to stairs and upstairs loo not suitable)
We have being asking them to get her accommodation sorted since summer.
Saturday a letter In post to mIL (luckily DH intercepted it) that they were ripping the kitchen out first thing monday morning!
(No mention of the accommodation.)
So first thing Monday morning the
rollicking telephone conversation.

Your DD could explain that you need to gets sorted asap before the weather gets worse as you have health issues.
And she has to make arrangements so you need a fixed date
Sometimes another voice helps
I hope you get into your new home soon.

Moving house is stressful enough without holdups and broken fingers. This too will pass so hold in there and I look forward to reading the post that tells us you are settled in your lovely new home. I hope you have plenty of help with packing.

Sounds like a disaster AB. Sorry to hear about your finger. Glad it isn't stopping you posting though so life isn't all bad.
Unfortunately one is in the hands of these people and your time is not considered important. It will all seem less fraught on that first bright Spring morning in your new home.
