I have really enjoyed reading about your first jobs, so I it might be a good idea to expand, as above.
I spent 2 years working at Network Planning in the GPO. I was a temp working term time only for an Agency. They kept asking for me back and it was difficult to understand. As I only ever needed to type one or two documents a day. It was a time when the Telephome exchanges were moving to digital and it was code named System X. I had to sign the Official Secrets Act, fairly pointless as I never understood a word of what I typed.
I worked in a beautiful panelled Office in Riverplate House in London which I shared with the secretary to the department head. I became pregnant with my 3rd so I handed in my notice. It was revealed on my last day by the Head, that I had been employed to keep his secretary company and that he hoped the next temp he employed would get on with her as well as I did.
