Splitting hairs rather, aggie! I don't actually pronounce the 'r' in 'or'...

I say Awetumn , is it not awkward putting an "r" in there ?

How do you say autumn then aggie - do you say ohtumn?

Never heard any one use anything but the second version, which is what I say myself.

It's ohbergine - because it is derived from French.

I pronounce it the 2nd way too but it's illogical as it begins the same as autumn (ortum!) As do Austria (which my PiL pronounced Orstria) and Australia (which they pronounced Ostralia)
