I've just spent a pleasant hour in the company of my knitting, Matt Monro and Sky Arts.
It seems as if he just opened his mouth and out came this perfect, smooth voice. So it got me thinking - what does it mean to have a "pitch perfect" singing voice? Does it mean you never sing a false note?
Also - what makes one person able to do that and another not - is it mechanics (voicebox etc), or genetics, training, or a "gift from God"?
Which other singers had "pitch perfect" voices? I think Doris Day, maybe Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole. Can't think of a single contemporary singer.
I'd be interested to hear who others think has or had a pitch perfect voice.
