What's your talent?

I like to play my piano - but having just had a lesson and my playing was not very good I don't think you'd call it a talent.
I'm not a bit creative - but have a friendly disposition.
Recently I went with some other library types, all of us trained in customer service behind enquiry and refernence desks, to the Good Food Show. We must have had "Can I help you?" written all over us because we were approached on numerous occasions for directions, information, and friendly chat. Lovely. Is that a talent?

Retired now thank goodness. I've found out I'm a great doodler. Keep you papers and pens away from me.

I am a knitwear designer so I suppose that is a talent ,also I can cook , but , my real talent is spending money , oh how I love it , husband isn't all that keen though !

I make people laugh,
I also paint and have done many a picture for family and friends.
The only thing is when I go to my art group,I like to amuse them as well.Hearing people laugh is music to my ears.
But my husband says when I'm going to art "don't fuck about"I will try I respond.
I also try to be good mum and grandma, which comes naturally to most women I think.

I have a good memory for trivia and have always been good at spelling. Haven't knitted for some time but at one time I could easily carry quite a complex pattern in my head once I had learnt it, so could watch TV or read while knitting.

Sarcasm. But that's not much to write home about.

I am brilliant at starting jobs and never finishing them

LadyGracie.... forget that one, it was probably said in a moment of frustration.....
But it reminds me: Years ago I was required to write down 3 positive statements about myself. Impossible!
My older son had a quick think and said, "Well, you're a good Mum, god fun, and someone to talk to."
I have carried that accolade with me ever since.

In my working days I was always told I was "the great communicator" - I could always draft any type of document. Good with foreign languages and a pretty good pianist and violinist (sadly now badly out of practice with severe rheumatics). Seem to have a talent for tarot reading and enjoy any sort of crafty things, although they are not as professional as I would like, apart from knitting, which I really like, although have always hated sewing, so have to force myself to finish thing.

meandashy my late father could wiggle his ears too.I haven't inherited this talent though!
I can crochet but wrist problems prevent me from doing this now.I am a good listener.
Everyone has a talent for something-recently a friend who had not been able to work for some years was saying that she had no skills to return to the workforce.As we were talking,she was opening immaculately organised drawers and cupboards,knowing exactly where the papers she wanted were located.I pointed out her organisational skills and she realised that she had not thought of it that way before.
One skill I wish I had is a photographic,or at least fully functioning,memory!

N&G I think whatever I do is a 'learned craft' rather than a natural talent!

Hah! I can trump you all. I have a Superpower. I am the Invisible Woman - at least I am whenever I try to get service at a bar...

I know I'm good at cooking and baking.
My other talent is wiggling my ears! Haven't met anyone else who can do it so far!

I am also a crafter. I mainly sew as my name says, but can knit and go through phases of doing many other crafts. I am also a very good baker, I made my daughter's wedding cake and have won a few baking competitions. I can play the guitar but wouldn't call it a talent!

When I was in my teens, Dad said, 'you can't paint', so I didn't pick up a brush again till last year, when hub encouraged me to buy a box of acrylics in Lidl.
Much to my surprise (and Dad's, dare I say, if he were still alive!) I found a talent for doggie portraits! I am not good at the delicate watercolours he favoured, but big bold strokes and colours. This year for my birthday, I received an easel; get me! I'm having fun exploring different media and techniques.

Mine will never hang in any gallery, but I always feel very honoured when I see them framed and on people's walls!

Apparently I am excellent at being naughty.

Not exactly a talent but I am (almost) never late for anything. I am a good speller & love crossword puzzles, I do two every day

I'm great at sorting other people's problems but rubbish at sorting my own!

Meant to post this yesterday but ... talent number 1 - definitely procrastination

Talent number 2 - listening. People seem to just off-load their worries or troubles to me which, they say, helps them see their way through. All except my son, who takes after me by keeping those things to himself

Talent number 3 - knitting. Still have some patterns I knit for my son till he got old enough to tell me he didn't like them as his mates all wore shop-bought items

Jalima who says your paintings have to hang in the National Gallery. It would be sad if that was the only sign you had artistic skill because millions of artists never hit those heady heights.

I think a talent is something you enjoy too. And learned or natural I would envy you as I can't paint a straight line --so in my eyes you are talented.

I am the 'nose ' in our household- Grampy , if in doubt will always say --sniff this !! Is it off ??( we're not talking about anything dodgy like underwear here !!)

Keep trying Falconbird. How old was Sybil Marshall when she first had a book published? Or that lady who wrote The Camomile Lawn whose name escapes me.

I was always thought to be a good creative writer from the time I learned to read and write. I always thought I would have a book published one day but so far no luck and I'm nearly 70.
