So a desert island is a 'deserted island' not a sand cay with a palm tree then?
If it's tropical it will have a supply of water and lush vegetation and perhaps pineapples ...

As it so happens, you have been put on this Island as a reward for all the good things you have done in your life. Therefore it can be desert, deserted, tropical even the Isle of Grain if you wish.

The genie only wanted to know your three favourite food stuffs to get you started. She knew that you were all enterprising enough to magic up accommodation, grow fruit and herbs, rescue your piano, goats, harp, chickens big cooking pots, tuba and dinner companion. But that's a whole ' other thread..

Who said the island had to be tropical, only deserted. Personally I would opt for a small deserted offshore island in a temperate climate where those that deserted it had left stone-built cottages I could set up home in. In which case bread cheese and water would be a distinct possibility. Is there any reason why the foodstuffs couldn't come in as regular airdrops?

The Gransnet Army, arms folded legs akimbo with rolling pin ready will soon stop the world invading our island.

The rolling pin is, of course,to make a nice apple pie, for visitors.

Trouble is, flossie the world has a nasty habit of catching up with you wherever you happen to be hiding!!

Personally, I am going to stay there until the world has turned back to the way I want it to be.

But what would the poor goat eat on a desert island? And what if it got ill? Oh dear, perhaps I'm over-thinking this...

What about a nanny goat? Or are there wild goats on the island already, I could learn to milk one to vary the diet.

Chocolate, crisps, cheese and wine please. None of this healthy stuff as who cares if there is no hope of rescue?

We'd need a pen/cil and paper so we could send messages in bottles after drinking the contents!
