Posters forgive me for going off topic ,I have been accused of hiding behind an alias, I have said several times my name Annie is the second half of my full name , my grandfather chose it and added the ie and Bach. One poster here has my email address which has my full Christian name , a poster I once trusted

I am not responsible for names chosen by posters , neither would I accuse them of using an alias , it is not my business , I accept and respect posters on what they say , not concerned with their privacy, I have no idea if your name is Jen, you say it is your name so I accept this.

Most people on here use aliases. That's why we can write what we do. Although my name is Jen, and I do live in Durham, so not as much of an alias as some.

You are free to defend him, I am free to critcise a man who worked against party members for years. The members who had to keep working for fourteen long bloody years . You obviously we're not one of them.

A 4% rise in Labour, and a 5% drop in Tory support.

There might be a bigger drop when they find out what the Tories really think of them.

I have to say that hiding behind an alias on this website to attack the (twice) elected leader of the party you apparently belong to is not impressive. It is also very repetitive. But obviously delights those who support the current government.

I was asked why I thought he didn't win the election, I gave my opinions on why and I added I liked and respected the man. Where was the defence of his bigot remark?

That, to me, sounds pretty much like you were unhappy his comment had been recorded and played, rather than you were unhappy that he had made the remark in the first place. I would describe that as excusing what he said on the grounds that "he is a good man".

I do not have a "little group" - in fact I have no group whatsoever. Sometimes what I say accords with other people's views and sometimes not. You, on the other hand, have quite a following of posters who jump to your defence, accusing anyone who disagrees with your often quite goading and sarcastic comments of being a bully.

It appears to me that it is you who is obsessed with Corbyn. On many political/current affairs threads in which Corbyn has not featured, you seem determined to bring him into the discussion - as if goading people to respond. Most of the time I try not to.

Like Michael Portillo, he has become much nicer since leaving politics; why go back to the Whitehall Jungle when you can turn a buck in pleasanter ways and also become liked?

MP today, not an MP tomorrow- it's a process that can be reversed you know. Nice, comfortable, secure seat and he is back in. Don't tell me it can't happen. Then a couple of years to the next election and it's happened before you know it. I imagine many people were saying a few years ago "Trump can't be President he has never held any office." In fact some people were saying it very recently.

I think DH and I thought he would never be able to enter politics again although you never know, there does seem to be a cultivation of celebrity these days, with everyone from Lily Allen's to Gary Lineker's views being taken as gospel.
