There's a myth about a duck's quack not creating an echo but ana said duck earlier.

Sincere apologies, I missed the duck, and the answer was a ducks quack. Well done Ana for Duck and Linsco for finding the urban myth that a ducks quack does not echo.

Been multi tasking, trying to sort some PC problems on another thread.

I'd never heard of the urban myth - the only clue I was responding to was the lack of tunefulness one!

If you google "urban myth bird sound" you will find it.

Last week we were staying at Warners Gunton Hall. We had a suite with two rooms. MrsP asked me to answer her mobile phone which was ringing, her ring tone is a duck quacking --- it wasn;t her phone it was two ducks in the living room !. The lake was nearby. The following morning we were woken by two ducks pecking at the window.
