When DS2 was born he was given a lovely, small and very soft teddy by a relative, I remember it propped up in the corner of the perspex hospital cot.
"Bed Ted" went everywhere, except on a holiday to America when DS2 was 9 (he was worried that he might get air sick!
so he stayed at home with Grandma) He got left behind on a visit to family once, and had to be posted back, much worrying that he wouldn't be able to breathe
!
I had to re-stitch his smile on a couple of occasions, as he was very much loved (my sewing isn't up to much, but it was ok).
He went with DS2 on his very last journey, tucked next to him in his coffin.
but I thought it was lovely that the little bear had always been with him, even when he left home to start living his "grown up" life. Happy memories.
