Honeyrose, its white left wingers who come up with latest unacceptable word. My friend is black and laughs he head off at all the madness, If she spots another black person which is rare) when we are out and about she calls them blackheads !

After being 'foregrounded' and 'platformed', will they be 'sidelined', we ask ourselves!

Honeyrose your thinking is so like mine, exactly who says which words are acceptable and which are not.
I do get tired of being told what to say and the assumption being made that we are all anti something if we don't use current terminology.
As for being foregrounded well - words fail me ( unusually )

Forgot to add a "this is meant to sound ironic" emoticon so that no-one thinks I am being serious.

Hmmmm. I don't read much by journalists about lots of different things, they seem to concentrate on what they think will be read, oddly enough.

Perhaps EVERYONE should get positive discrimination? That would mean no-one felt ignored ever?

I don't understand why can say people of colour but not coloured people. I used to have to say black people now it appears that is wrong and people of colour is the right thing to say. Who says so - who makes these things up.

I don't bloody care what colour the person is it's just the bloody stupid language you have to use.

After they've been foregrounded, will they be platformed?

BBbevan Wed 02-Nov-16 13:55:20

Then why don't they say so!!!!!?

There is a quote with the tweet by Toni Morrison who, when I checked on Wiki, appears to be a black American writer.

It seems to be saying that they want to give non-white writers prominence by positive discrimination.
