Wobbly, before I had my knee replaced, the pain was getting unbearable, and the only thing that helped at all was Oromorph, liquid morphine, but even that only lasted short periods, but oh, the bliss of those short times. Afterwards they gave me Zomorph capsules, but they were no good whatsoever.
Olgoat, yes, we`ve been across to Gigha, it`s only 20 minutes on the ferry, but we didn`t eat in the Boathouse, we took sandwiches and ate on the little beach outside the Boathouse. Gigha is lovely, what bit we saw. Apologies by the way, the other week I wrote that Alison and Adrian at Muasdale were a lovely couple, I didn`t know that they`d sold up and new people are there now. It`s a pity you aren`t going to Muasdale till May, me and my family are off up there for Easter weekend, but staying in Campbeltown. Plans are afoot for lunch with Soop, and a possible "audience" with Rory!
Enclosing some pics, waiting for the Gigha ferry, approaching Gigha, and on the beach next to the Boathouse.

You have my sympathy, wobbly, if the physio can't help ask for an urgent referral to your local pain clinic, they are good with medication alternatives and just sometimes can come up with a minor pain relief miracle. Hope you get some rest tonight, if not you can join me in the 4 a.m. club sad.

Tizliz Sat 05-Nov-16 22:06:23

WB have you tried amitriptyline? I can't take painkillers as they upset me, but amitriptyline help me sleep ?

Having already had my right hip and left knee replaced, I am in significantly more pain this time. I can't see an end point atm, if I don't walk on it, it won't degenerate enough to get replaced.

wobbly sorry you are in so much pain. Have you tried listening to something on headphones in bed at night. Might tak your mind off it. My right knee is bad (nothing like as bad as yours) and that sometimes keeps me awake. I try concentrating on something else. Hope you have a better night tonight.

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain, wob. Not much help, I know, but I never found Naproxen much good either.

oldgoat Sat 05-Nov-16 20:44:23

Gosh wobblybits Just how bad does it have to be before it's replaced? Sounds unbearable now.

Wobblybits Sat 05-Nov-16 20:39:10

Feeling very low today, taking the maximum dose of co-codemol nad naproxene yet it is not helping with the pain. The pain in my knee is now worse that my hip and is keeping me awake at night. I start physio on Monday, but I can't see how it will help as I can hardly walk more than a few steps let alone exercise. Not sure how to cope with this until it gets bad enough to replace.

Thank you oldgoat. Sometimes I think it's just me that technology doesn't like. smile

oldgoat Sat 05-Nov-16 19:16:36

dustyangel If I try to post three images from my phone it can't cope. A little circle appears which goes round and round til I cancel the message and start again.

callgirl 1 I've just been watching Alison Steadman's programme about Small Islands, when she visited Gigha. I guess you might have been over to the island when you were caravanning up there and will have happy memories of that beautiful coastline. Did you ever eat at the Boathouse restaurant? I think we will have to give it a try when we stay at Muasdale next May.The food looked very tasty.

Wobblybits Sat 05-Nov-16 18:59:01

It could be that the images were too big.

dustyangel Sat 05-Nov-16 18:53:11

Yes, I was doing that but for some reason it was too much for my IPad. Only this time, I've been able to post three successfully in the past.

I like your photographs.

Wobblybits Sat 05-Nov-16 18:49:27

dustyangel Sat 05-Nov-16 18:21:00

Thank you Wobbly I've just tried it again with no luck. I might have to wait till it's all finished and post a picture of the finished house.grin

dustyangel Sat 05-Nov-16 18:16:01

It looks a beautiful calm place callgirl1 ( I don't feel comfortable abbreviating your new name smile )
I hope the weather when you are all up in Scotland is as good as it looks in the photo, it will make everything easier for you and leave you all with happy memories.

callgirl1 Sat 05-Nov-16 17:46:17

Silly me, forgot the photo!

callgirl1 Sat 05-Nov-16 17:45:22

This is where our family are booked into for Easter weekend, when we go up to Kintyre. It`s the Craigard House hotel in Campbeltown.

Wobblybits Sat 05-Nov-16 17:25:06
