I am a bit slow on the uptake as you might gather.

Feeling a bit better today! A good nights sleep helped.
I've treated myself to a Nesspresso machine. The coffee is lovely but no sign of George Clooney yet. I feel cheated.
Have I grounds for complaint?

I agree that it will be better for everybody if you stay well clear of Jackson and Cooper until that lurgy has done the grand tour and moved on. You want those little mites fit and healthy for the 25th of next month.

Today I visit my solicitor to sign my will so that is another box ticked. The Lasting Power of Attorney is slowly getting there.

Very dreich here today and still cold. I suppose that I have to expect it mid November.

I am going to an AGM this evening which I hoped to wriggle out of because I cannot drive in the dark due to AMG. Transport has been organised for me so I have no more excuses.

I'm not a G & T drinker either. But yesterday I did have a cheeky tia Maria after Sunday lunch with my coffee and it went down a treat!

Had a lovely couple of days crafting and I'll add some pictures. The Christmas Eve box is filled wit goodies and letters from Santa and certificates for being good . (Well Mums need all the help they can get!)

Our granddaughter has been loaned a clarinet from school so we have been subjected treated to a few skype concerts. Luckily her Mum can play too so we're hoping for a lot of improvement.

Jackson is ill with something that has gone round their household once and is now on the rounds again . So I am trying to avoid visiting because nothing is more contagious than a 4 year old who wants kisses and cuddles and I don't have the heart to say no

I'm off to do some ( look away now if you're delicate......) Christmas shopping .

Daphne Broom he is a lovely lad, I like his red hair. He is just a year and a bit older that my curly long blond haired, little boy.

ann I am sure that he would be mortified if he had an inkling as to what his behaviour is like nowadays. It is a ghastly devastating illness. You have the patience of a saint.

Swanny my H would drink more than he should if I didn't keep check. He also takes more food than he can eat.I have to monitor his intake. It is so humiliating for both of us. Fortunately he doesn't realise.

I obviously should get out more as I have never heard of Bombay Sapphire and Fever Tree. Admittedly I have never had a G&T in my life so AA will not be gaining another member any time soon. I have a bottle of wine every month or so.

Tizliz I would think that you did not have an ache in your body after that delightful time skyping your GD. She knows her own mind at such a young age.

ann I knew a lovely lady who always shared a bottle of wine with her DH with their evening meal. Sadly he developed Alzheimer's and there were often 'disagreements' at the dining table as to whether he'd drunk a glass already or not. She tried buying non-alcoholic wine but he refused to drink that as it wasn't a label he recognised so she would bring out an old bottle discreetly filled with the non-alcoholic variety

Love G&T and Bombay Sapphire and Hendricks are particular favourites. Fever tree is good but we stick to Schweppes. I still like the good things in my life, it keeps me going.

soop I am not a g&t fan but I have a friend who is and she always has Fever Tree, had not heard of it before.

All today's pain (leaf picking up again) and this afternoons dullness has been put in the shadows by a long skype with our very nearly 4 year old grand daughter. When we said we would send some money for her birthday she said she wanted a surprise - so she is getting one. She drew us a picture of the cake she wants. Wish there had been skype when our other grandchildren had been little.

Swanny Animals are therapeutic. On one occasione when I visited the care home, a beautiful Labrador came in with his master and "did the rounds". The smiles on the faces of the residents spoke volumes. I'm sorry to hear that your grandson cannot have a cat. How about a long-haired guinea pig? Our grandson has two and they are adorable. Also easy to manage. They have an out-of-doors run in the summertime. They also have the most adorable haircut.

anno and ann I'm hoping that your osteoporosis can be managed. You will most certainly need to be extra careful not to fall on slippery surfaces. At "our age" falls can be beyond a buggeration.

corner MacSporran has made another loaf. He's certainly getting good value from his new toy.
We have a snack on Sunday evenings. Cheese on toast followed by apple/blackberry and plum crumble.

I've a new brand of tonic water (Fever Tree) or much-like. I shall test it in a Bombay Sapphire Gin on the last stroke of six o'clock. MacSporran will enjoy a 'drappie' - another word for wee dram.

Fingers are crossed for ann, anno and anyone else dealing with osteoporosis. Our hospitalised friend has been told she has it, but right now it's the least of her worries.

There will be lots of cake this week charleygirl so 'you lot' are welcome. Just clear up the crumbs as you leave .

Felt for Grace, our dogs would have been similarly mortified. Like the sound of Bracken's supper. Probably better than the offering for the guests here! Best attend to the strange smell coming from the oven, could be an interesting meal day. Think it's time for the for the cook - and the guests .

ann, I won't know if my bones have shown any changes until I have completed the course of three annual infusions.I asked the rheumatology nurse if I needed another dexa scan and she said they would do one in two years.

All these dear cats in here are making me so envious I've had 1 or 2 cats for most of my life - not the same ones obviously

We're not allowed cats or dogs here (communal garden and elderly residents are cited as reasons) and I can't stand to see animals in cages. I wouldn't like the responsibility of a dog anyway (having to go 'walkies' in the cold and rain puts me off) but I do miss the comfort, companionship and therapy of a cat.

My DGS, who is autistic, has a fear of dogs but I think the right cat could help him. Unfortunately they're on the 'not allowed' list where he lives too

soop Tara and I will be moving in soon. Bracken is looked after like a queen re the food that she is given.
