Here we are again...
happy as can be
all good friends and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather,
never mind the rain,
as long as we're together...Woops she goes again.

A big, warm welcome and please continue to enjoy the companionship.

wine cupcake and smile until I return tomorrow. x

Sad to say we still need an ark. So fed up with the grey skies and damp. Lots of local flooding, we're fine though thank goodness.

You sound relieved by that letter soop, at least you have clarity now. The subject of your excellent portrait looks to be a cheerful little soul. I wonder what she will think of her portrait. Be excited I imagine.

Better news for you ann, Pleased for you. The beekeeper and the bee made me smile nellie, have had a good enough day but feel flat, a smile was just what I needed. Sadly I don't like Baileys!

Grandparent duties this evening. Excellent grandchild is fast asleep, there's a bit of me wishes she wasn't as she is good company.

Stay warm everyone.

Nelliemoser Tue 22-Nov-16 16:54:49

Ok not pampered pets but my Little Bee keeper and his Bee. What to do in the museum on a wet afternoon in November.
I'm not sure what the little one thinks of this.

soop Tue 22-Nov-16 16:39:10

I have almost finished a watercolour of my local friend's granddaughter. I believe that it's the fourth or fifth person portrait I've attempted. There are some aspects that aren't as I'd wished them to be. On the whole, it is a good likeness.

ann Relatively good news regarding your osteoporosis. Did you mention the other matter that troubles you? sunshine

annsixty Tue 22-Nov-16 14:25:08

soop I am sorry that you have reached the end of the road, but at least now you can stop worrying about it and I know you will accept the decision and get on with coping.
I had good news from my GP this morning, although I do have osteoporosis it is not too bad and after taking my risk factors into account we decided between us that I will just take calcium and VitD for now. It was a relief as I am not keen on medication unless absolutely necessary.. A dull day here and I am trying to find things to do.

Hello to you lovely lot. It is glorious weather we're enjoying right now. I do feel for those of you are having the worst that Mother Nature can throw at you. Stay warm and stay safe.

Swanny the air is beautifully clean and definitely crisp in Kintyre. There is promise of another colourful sunset later today.

Judthepud I shall keep DaphneB and Crafting company. Thank you, Swanny for your generosity of spirit. Hic!

Grace lives up to her name. I would love legs as shapely as hers. A boyfriend that I had (long ago) first spoke to me thus..."Hello. Aren't you chubby knees from the office along the road?". hmm

NanaandGrampy Hang on a mo'...I'm unsure how much Baileys remains in the bottle. No probs...^Us lot^ are blest with virtual tipple. Let's have a double. wink

Wobblyb grin

I'm going to give you some welcome news. Today, thanks to a very informative letter regarding the proposed pelvic floor surgery, the surgeon feels that I've already had enough invasive intervention. The risks outweigh the possible benefits. I can now rest my case. The letter put everything into perspective. The frustrations have evaporated. MacS is feeling relieved. Me too. I shall continue to cope and count my blessings. End of the boring saga of the drop bot...

Wobblybits Tue 22-Nov-16 12:07:27

What's the chance of dialing a wrong number and getting your next door neighbour.

NanaandGrampy Tue 22-Nov-16 08:40:13

Morning all !!

No ark needed today but if I was not as fat well built , I might be blown away!!

soop what glorious pictures !! You are blessed with the best of Mother Natures work !!

I'm sorry to hear of your epic @nose fail' as my granddaughter says !! That's quite scary . I hope its recovering nicely.

If any of you have missed Daphnes Christmas poen in another thread , you must see it , it made me chuckle !! You're very talented Daphne !!!

Is it wrong to want Baileys for breakfast Jud? If not pass the bottle over.

I'm off out on a shopping expedition this morning with my daughter and tonight Sam is off to the salon for a wash and brush up - I think he enjoys it and they return him smelling 'pouffy' and with a bow on his collar for being a good boy!!

Happy days one and all xx

DaphneBroon Mon 21-Nov-16 22:47:23

You are right!! And of course you recognise me blush Do you think she's been having a crafty nip??
Hounds never seem to know quite what to do with their legs when they are lying down.

Crafting Mon 21-Nov-16 22:22:24

Just looked at the picture again DB. Could be *Grace lying on the floor. Is that why she sleeps so much? Have you been putting something in her water bowl grin

Crafting Mon 21-Nov-16 22:19:03

Ah Daphneb, a woman after my own heart. Come on pass the bottle over please grin Thanks Jud pop in any time, you are always welcome (especially when you bring such nice gifts) smile

DaphneBroon Mon 21-Nov-16 21:32:52

Ooh a wee dram, thanks Judthepud!!

Judthepud2 Mon 21-Nov-16 21:17:06

Hello all. Haven't been around much recently so just popping in to catch up. Everyone seems to be struggling with their own problems so hugs all round.

Loved your photos soop ! We had one of those sunsets tonight too. I wonder what caused the extreme colour. I wish I had photographed it but was in the middle of grandson minding so didn't get a chance.

The weather pattern seems to have done a complete turn about, with us in the north having the good weather, albeit very cold. I prefer that to the incessant rain which you in the south are experiencing at the moment. It's usually us that gets all that.

Hunkered down for the evening with wood burner roaring away, dog cuddled up with me on the sofa and DH in his usual armchair in the corner surrounded by stuff! The wind has started howling outside but it's cosy in here. I can feel a Christmas song coming on!

Leaving a little bottle of Bailey's in the kitchen for those who might fancy a wee glass. Enjoy.

Swanny Mon 21-Nov-16 17:49:32

soop beautiful pictures of your sunset - I'm so envious but don't like the cold air that probably accompanied that sky grin The rain clouds parted here just long enough for a few minutes of daylight before the sun went down.

Keep warm and safe everyone. (((hugs))) to all who could do with a few ...

soop Mon 21-Nov-16 16:59:25

ann I too would sit in so that you may have more quality "you time". Is the appointment for you? If so, please talk about your problems.

Wobbly How could anyone possibly considering shooting you! Us lot wouldn't allow it. We are very fond of you.

Charleyg I was also thinking that Basil deserves a rug. I've a number airing in the cupboard. All tartan.

NanaandGrampy From the mouths of children like Cooper...stuff is said as it really is. grin

cornerg I'm posting a pic of the sunset that I photographed about an hour or so ago. It's almost dark now.

Care home visit in the morning. I shall pop in for my daily catch-up fix as soon as I return. Stay warm and safe. smile moon

Charleygirl Mon 21-Nov-16 15:31:03

soop I agree, if it happens again you must get it checked out because that amount of bleeding is not normal. Hopefully it was a one/off. Tara and I will definitely be moving in. I will bring her prescription food but I quite fancy some of the dishes that Rory and Bracken are offered as I rarely cook chicken for myself. Bracken is a s snug as a bug in rug in her outdoor "house". She possibly has a snug area in the forest but it will not be as cosy and warm.

ann so sorry I do not live closer- I would happily house sit while you went about your daily tasks outside! I know I could not do it full time but would not mind a few hours.

I was a guinea pig for the medical students again today- hopefully they learned something. The weather here is foul, raining but thankfully not too heavy. Dark, dismal and cold.

You will be very lucky N&G if you are allowed into that swimming pool again with the ladies after cooper's remarks!

Daphne Basil, like Grace, Rory and Tara, knows how to make himself comfortable. He looks very content. Perhaps a rug over him?!

Wobblybits Mon 21-Nov-16 15:27:50

Had a physio session this Morning, she has discharged me as she doesn't think she can do anything for me (apart from shoot me). She will write to my GP to that effect. She wants me to continue to try the exercises for a few weeks and if there is no improvement go back to the doctor.

annsixty Mon 21-Nov-16 14:23:13

A horrible day here but I made it out to buy a new dishwasher, the last one having died last weekend. H has been helping but creates 3 times the work. I would have gone out in a hurricane as he has worn me out all weekend!!! I feel I need an excuse to get out and it was the perfect opportunity.
I have a Dr's appt tomorrow so another genuine reason. I feel so guilty but my sanity is at stake some days.

cornergran Mon 21-Nov-16 14:07:54

Oh dear, soop, that was quite a n bleed. Mr C sympathises as he is the nose bleed champion here. If it happens again maybe best to get it checked out as it does sound a bit extreme.

I'm with n&g in needing an ark. The puddles in our car park have joined up to form a lake. It's still pouring. We were out at an indoor shopping mall this morning, dry if chilly inside, three motorway junctions back felt like 30. Standing water, spray and the rain made driving more than difficult. We have local floods, fortunately not too close by, it's nasty out there. Envious of the cold and frost, I love those types of days, thoroughly dislike these grey and so wet ones. In fact this afternoon I plan to emulate Basil, if he doesn't mind sharing his strategy daphne.

Cooper sounds a real water baby n&g, love the wobbly arms comment but wonder if you will be alllowed back during the class grin

Unless I can find a way of using the iPad under a cushion that's me for today. Stay dry and slip-free everyone.

soop Mon 21-Nov-16 13:21:10

NanaandGrampy I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing inclement weather. It's bright and frosty here in Kintyre. In fact, we are having to leave our daily walk around the village until we're able to defrost the car, which we need to get us into the village. (no garage to protect it.)
I've been looking on-line for suitable car covers. We believe we've found just the thing.

DaphneB Take your time. No rush. Gently does it if you have icy surfaces to negotiate. The surface of our drive is treacherous.

The match between Andy and Novak was wonderful for all the right reasons. Well done, Andy Murray.

A strange thing happened in the early hours. I was fast asleep and awoke with what I believed to be a runny nose and a nasty taste in my mouth. The dim light in the bedroom made it difficult to see what was happening. That is until I went into the bathroom. My face and hands were covered in blood. It was all over the pillow and sheet. My nose was dripping bllod and I held a face cloth over the nostril for about twenty minutes. When I removed the cloth, a huge clot of blood came away and the dripping continued. I didn't want to disturb MacS. There was nothing he could have done. Eventually, after almost an hour, I went back to bed with cotton wool balls stuffed up my nostril. It was tricky unpeeling it away from the skin when I awoke this morning. I've had to change the bed linen. Wipe the light switch and door where my bloodied hands had left a mess. Anyway...all's well. No real harm done.

annodomini Mon 21-Nov-16 13:17:57

DaphneB, Basil is a dog after my own heart. It's a gey dreich day here.
I was glued to the TV for the Andy/Novak match. I couldn't believe how well Andy managed to overcome the effects of two very long matches. He has worked so hard for the results he has achieved this year and deserves all the accolades he's receiving now. I also enjoy watching Jamie and his partner playing. Men's doubles is wonderfully fast and exciting and I don't think it's getting the appreciation it deserves.

NanaandGrampy Mon 21-Nov-16 13:10:42

Daphne Basil is excellently camouflaged !! I had to enlarge to work out what happened to his head :-)

Swimming was excellent- apparently young Cooper can fly and surprised us by leaping in unaided unexpectedly !!He seemed unfazed by the unscheduled 'sinking' and was more excited to be hauled out by one arm by Grampy who was quicker off the mark than me !!

It set the tone for a morning when the Aquacise ladies were doing their thing in the other part of the pool. We left shortly after Cooper yelled excitedly that he could do the wobbly arms like the ladies.... made you think about 'bingo wings' quite differently!

soop Mon 21-Nov-16 13:01:59

Charleygirl MacS and I have blitzed Bracken's chalet. We've lined the floor area with thick polystyrene. We've cut a proper piece of carpet to lay over that. The straw basket is being refurbished with a fleece. wink

DaphneBroon Mon 21-Nov-16 10:47:37

Grand dog Basil seems to sum up how I feel about a grey, wet, November Monday morning.
As Grace had me up three times in the night I am making an even slower start than usual ?

NanaandGrampy Mon 21-Nov-16 08:31:02

Good morning all !

I am off to build an ark today and will be asking for orderly queueing please !!

Its wet, wet ,wet here and in a mad moment we asked Cooper yesterday if he would like to swim this morning. So an alarm clock start is not making my mood any lighter !!

Good to hear little Teddy is so much better Kitty , what a relief.

How are you feeling Galen ? Brighter I hope.

Daphne Flynn looks in smashing form !!

I agree Lona I don't want to be have appointments with Grampy ! I shall decline in future. He can have his own . Although I am currently being hounded chased by the surgery about my flu jab. I don't want it I always feel terrible for about a week afterwards and I don't see any benefit so they can keep chasing ;-)

Beautiful sky Dusty , we are lucky at some of the things nature shares with us.

Charley !!! Tara is shocked at being advertised free to a good home ! She is considering her options and I think she mentioned the word 'sue' !!!

soop your photos make me green with envy. We all need a little chicken soup for soul and your pictures do the trick for me .

Right 0ff to brave the pool !! Back later.
