I also love "Listen to the rhythm of the falling Rain." We.often sing it in our house. It was about the time of "Only. 16". Just before my heart and mind was taken by Beatles, Kinks,, and those wonderful songs they wrote.

Roses I still love a rum and Coke but I didn't start the strong stuff till I was at least 16 and a day, or was 18 the legal age ? Anyway I digress back to the brilliant music of our youth.

Going back furtherthan my teen years, my mother used to love Magic Moments, Some day I'm gonna write the story of my life and my sister used to play April Love by Pat Boone. I listened to that and imagined that my life would be just like that song! Ooops.

Thanks everyone for all these 70's titles -.I've made a list and will pass them along to a student volunteer group that organizes a seniors prom in February every year (around Valentines Day). The right mix of "fab fav" 70's tunes makes all the difference to the success of the event because it keeps us seniors bopping away on the dance floor all night long!

I suppose every generation has its music but the 60s/ 70s music was very good. We were lucky. So many good musicians who seemed to be self taught, the Blues and Motown .I agree with all of the above and lots by our new Nobel laureate Dylan T

All the songs from the 60's take me back to when I was that pretty girl with the long hair and short skirts too! Beatles, beach boys, soul music and just the chart music of the day. BBC radio Manchester has Seeeny's 60's classics on each Sunday afternoon for 3 hours. In my mind I'm back there. Bliss!

Those Were the Days My Friend...

Just trying to work out the earliest songs I remember. We had an old wind up gramophone in a wooden cabinet (made by my great grandfather I believe). Dad somehow made it work electrically (and probably lethally - but we all survived!) Anyway the first records I actually remember being played on it were Guy Mitchell 'Singing the Blues' and Pat Boone 'Friendly Persuasion' in about 1956 I think. I still remember all the words and to this day I love the line, 'Thee pleasures me in a hundred ways'.

Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the Sky, played at our school lunchtime discos 1969/70. I was around 15 & it always brings back happy memories.

So many others throughout 60s/early 70s. Loved Rolling Stones, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Beach Boys, Everley Brothers so many more & of course my absolute favourite band Queen - my entire list would bore you

I must be a lot older than you all because " Tell Laura I Love Her" really whisks me back ! It was playing on the juke box in the local village pub,we managed to sneak in and local lads bought us a Babycham complete with a cherry on a cocktail stick. Oh the height of sophistication ! My friend and I were fourteen .
